I would have called the topic the Penelo Purge, since it died because it was an event about her and was just as "just kinda there" as she was. Seems like no one drew from the first banner, and there were no new characters/abilities thus there wasn't really any discussion going on.

Anyway I just finished the Ultimates

Judge Bergen and his posse were cake, the minor judges went down to my mage team's nukes, and Raines and Ashe killed Bergen so quickly he couldn't start his chain magic stuff.

I decided to Cid Mission Shemhazai since I have pretty good 12 relics and she mostly uses magic, Vaan's BSB should make up for the lack of wall. My team was Vaan, Vayne, Basch, Larsa and Penelo. Put Mako Might on Vaan so I could lower Shemhazai's magic at the start, the main struggle here was her silencega since it still hits pretty often even with Silence resist (had to reset when Penelo was silenced since she had Ultra Cure) so Mage teams are not recommended. She also gets scourge nuke happy when she's below 25% health so a medica is really wise to bring if you have one for Larsa or Penelo (I had to make due with Penelo's War Dance) Fun fight through and a nice sendoff to Ultimate+, looks like I won't be doing Cid Missions for a while now since you have to do them on Ultimate++'s after this :/

Ba'gamnan and his team was probably the hardest U++ in a while, they're pretty tough and can get scary if they get Water Spout happy. I used a mage team but swapped Papalymo for Terra since she has a water command to use on Ba'gamnan (shame chain Watagra isn't out until the next FFV event) I had Raines use his second command and Terra use summons to kill the minions quickly, but one of them survived with a sliver of life and killed Tyro with Firgara, luckily he refreshed wall before he died, but Ultimate Water Spout did like 3000 damage to the party when Ba'gamnan was alone. Terra was already in her burst mode and with a refresh of Ley Lines she killed Ba'gamnan before he could wipe my team out with more Water Spouts. This fight might have been a lot easier if I brought Vaan to use his BSB on Ba'gamnan through.

Beat Hashmal Apocalypse+, sheesh this guy is a tank, even with wall/breaks/protectga he still hits like a truck, and he can easily kill most of the team if they aren't wearing Earth Resist with some of his moves. Also make sure to have a member with dispel or banishing strike because you don't want him hasted.

But I got more delicious 4* Vitality motes

I did 2x11 on the second banner, because my XII synergy is ass. I went 1/11 both times.

First one was Basch SSB, second was Larsa BSB. Apparently RNGesus thought I'd enjoy a 6th healer burst. Well, joke's on him, because I actually did want that one.

I beat my first torment dungeon today =D

Decided to go mage team with Raines, Alph, Aerith, Y'shotla and Tyro. I read mage teams aren't that recommended for torments since if they run out of hones they're screwed but with ace striker/battleforged on Raines/Alph they pretty much never run out of magic with repeated use of their first burst command. Raine's second command nuke along with Alph's summons destroyed the minions. Aerith's default soul break casted silence on Gi Nattak's flames, I saved my RW Ley Lines for the boss, Alph's wind commands were the DPS and he even made an extra bar so I could use deployment tactics to reflect damage and give Raines an extra magic boost.

Managed to beat Hashmal Ap.+, I don't want to take all the credit, but my Minfilia w/ Last Stand and Arc w/ Instant medica saved the party more times than I can count.

Already had the former's Pentabreak, but his Burst is probably better especially if it stacks with Wakka's Assault Reels. Yuna becomes more versatile since I have a medica SSB for her as well.

So, some bragging right that literally no other human can possibly care about I wager.

ALL my characters are max leveled (IE,every named character and cores that have MC2 are 80, and I have used all my MC 3 that you can get so far, and all of them are 99)

I also have ALL their Record Materia's earned (IE, everyone has everything except their MC3 level 99 RM, since you can't have all those yet, but of all the ones I did unluck, which is max,everyone is at 99 and I therefore have their level 99 RM)

Yay.

This will last all of 3 and a half hours when tonight no doubt introduces new character/MC1/MC2s....

There's a few people on the Record Keeper board who actually level up everyone to max.

Personally I like to keep my MC3 characters in the level 80~ range since I hate having EXP sponges in the party in general, even if most non-exp levels give paltry exp. I still managed to beat all Ultimate++'s since January and a torment dungeon. I don't think you really need to be level 99 unless you're doing 250+ torments and magicite dungeons (and I almost beat the 250 torment today with level 80ish characters, and it's probably because I need FFVII armor more than anything)

Also if you get a new soul break for a character you have to grind them to master it anyway.

Man these upcoming Ultimates look like a major pain in the ass, and FFX is probably my weakest common realm, even that Jecht burst I got from a Lucky Draw doesn't seem like it will be useful against them anyway. I kinda want to pull on tonight or Sunday's banner just for synergy but everyone on the RK forums says that the next FFX Banners are way better and I'm personally hoarding up for Cloud's USB banner.

I hate that we now have Summon dailies on the day events launch.
I want to complete events as fast as possible, but the orbs for r5 Bahamut and Tiamat (yes, I know I'm crazy) aren't going to farm themselves.

So what I'm doing now is delaying events until Fridaily, but that's not great either, since Dark Orbs are kinda important too.

Finally got a good LD! I'm super excited about Rafa's Burst, and Wakka's burst should be a big help for FFX CMs. I don't imagine I'll ever use the others since I have better SBs for them anyway, but more options are never a bad thing.

Holy shit.

Ok, the 200's are ok....

The god damn 250s though.

I fought him 6 times, winnng 1, but missing Mastery cause he hit me with Meteor after losing She'll and killing 2 of them at the literal last second (I hit Vaan's burst, it didn't activate till after his attack) of the attack that killed him.

I finally just got Mastery, but my god that was crazy. Had to SL like 8 times.

Finished the Hashmal Raids.

For U+, I brought in Luneth and Alphinaud but forgot to change their Soul Breaks so Luneth had his Default one and Alphinaud only had Deployment Tactics.

Didn't really matter since Luneth just spammed Aerora Strike which was good enough for the constant 9999 and having Alphinaud with Deployment Tactics actually worked out with the Bounce Back.

Apocalypse was me having Ramza instead of Luneth for Shout and not forgetting to give Alphinaud his BSB, but still starting the fight with Deployment Tactics for the Bounce Back. The fight was the typical long drawn-out fight that these Apocalypse raids are known for.

Really the Bounce Back is so good for the x8 hit from AoEs, but I don't see it used very often.

We'll be facing a new difficulty of Ultimates tonight with our first Apocalypse battle, and it's going to be a dozy since it's a 3 aeon gauntlet and they do stuff like slowga and party wide dispels and use mixed physical/magical attacks. It's gonna be a pain, especially with my weak FFX synergy.

I also switched my RW to Edge's burst in case anyone needs a water burst, all 3 of the ultimates are weak to water (in a way)

I beat the first two ultimates, but the Aeon Gauntlet is so fucking stupid! Valefor does way too much damage with his magic aoe attacks, but it's still better than being slowed by his damn sonic wings... sometimes I even have to use an overstrike just to kill him before he gets too slow spam happy. Ifirit is easy but he sucks up hones you need for Ixion, and Ixion himself is cheap with aoe dispells when you're so worn from the previous fights, I keep running out of lifesiphon at him and losing because of it. I came really close to killing Ixion when he has 1/6th of his life left before he killed half my team with aoe nukes, so I gotta figure out how to clear that little gap.

I'm using Ramza, Bartz, Prishe, Tyro and Y'shtola. Need Ramza for shout to counter slowgas/dispells, need Bartz for water/ice spellblades, need Prishe for healing and last stand, and her burst to dps Ifirit to save healing hones for Ixion, Tyro for wall and breaks, and Y'shtola for asylum.

Also a RW Tidus Overstike only does 25000 against them, even Ixion who's supposed to be weak to it. Bleh, looks like I should find a better RW.

I really wish I could bring Vaan over Bartz or Ramza but he can't use ice/water attacks, and there's now way I can kill them fast enough to get 3 medals for damage.

I remember how I hate battling Yunalesca, be it Elite or Ultimate.


But man, MP Yunalesca is a major headache.

Last Stand is useless because of Sap.

So Asylum/Ramza's Chant is the MVP of this battle.

YEEEESSSSS! I finally beat the goddamn Aeon gauntlet! I used Zell's Duelist as my RW, and had to use all my vitality 4* motes on Prishe and Bartz but maaaan does it feel good to finally beat them.

Finally beat Yunalesca, had to rely on Bartz for water damage since Edge's burst was surprisingly weak. Tried yesterday with Prishe and Menfilia for last stand, switched to Y'Shtola since stoneskin today since that was more effective at dealing with Yunalesca's instant death shenanigans.

Somehow we managed to win without shout/VoF but it took foooorreeevvverrrrr. Some guy with Paine's burst and Bartz were the DPS (more like Damage per hour.) but we had 3 Y'shtolas, Tyro using his burst for magic blinks and a Vanille keeping us alive.
