I predict the final match will be 97 vs 98, with 98 winning it due to Ocarina of Time, Pokemon and SquareFAQs voters being forced to choose between FF7 and FFT/XG. I'm less sure on that last one because they weren't mentioned in the year sadly enough.

Half-Life
Grim Fandango
Fallout 2
Starcraft

So I think even outside of the OOT is the best game ever crowd there is a lot of reasons for people to vote 1998.
