It's like the only fan base where non-stop unreasonable complaining about the show is not only tolerated but completely encouraged. It's like if you like the show for what it is then you are the enemy, the villain.

Yeah, they tend to take for granted what they do have, and complain about what they think they don't have.

I can critique wrestling for several things, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy any of it, because if I didn't enjoy any of it, then I wouldn't watch the WWE at all, but I watch it because I do enjoy Rusev, I do enjoy Akira Tozawa, and Alexa Bliss, and Big Cass, and The New Day, and Dean Ambrose. I have nothing to complain about when the WWE puts out more fantastic matches per week than the slop-fests which were called matches during the Attitude Era, which were actually literal slop-fests, as took place between Henry Godwin and Triple H match.

Problem is that they themselves won't even accept this. Their reasoning to keep watching the show is "just in case something good might happen".

WWE fans tend to want everything all at once, and no one should expect patience from a television show, but for example, let's say they were to want a match at some time between Kevin Owens and Finn Balor, well let's say that the shake up happens - and they end up on the same roster, and they immediately have a match either that week on RAW or SmackDown - so in one way they may like that such a dream match up happens but then they may complain that the match was rushed and just booked on the fly.

Whereas, in the same way, if, however, the WWE takes their time, and builds up to that match over 3 or 6 months, or longer, then those same fans complain that "Why isn't that match happening yet?!" so they want pacing on one hand, but want instant gratification on the other hand.

I really do think that it comes down to them being spoiled and not knowing how good they have it compared to years where RAW only featured jobber squash matches as the bulk of its show, with main matches only being on PPVs.

And in fact, this past week they did get Kevin Owens and Finn Balor in the same match up via the tag team match they had, so there's the personification of that example.

They constantly complain about wwe but keep watching, you constantly complain about them but keep reading their post.

Seems like you understand perfectly well.

wwe fans have been unknowingly trained to hate the company due to their storyline.

How long has "The authority" been the heels/villain in the show? for like 20+ years now. Well what is the authority? its the company and what do fans do to the heels? Disagree with what they do, boo them, hate on them.

I try telling smarks they're being worked all the time but they insist they are too smart for the WWE always.

Yeah, they're oblivious to it, particularly when they bring up things like Triple H holding someone back, or that Vince McMahon has an ego, all of which are things that were used as bait in WWE story lines to develop characters and angles, and yet they cite the onscreen personas as being the actual behind the scenes individuals.

Oh, not to mention the Roman Reigns issue, which they directly play into, but which Roman Reigns himself confirmed on Chris Jericho's podcast that he loves to get heat, and he doesn't care if they boo him out of the building just as long as they show up and buy a ticket.

I think WWE (and most wrestling in general) has been terrible for a long time so I stopped watching it long ago and haven't picked back up on it since. Why that's so hard for other people is a mystery. It's like some sort of masochism is going on there.

I think wrestling nerds help make the product even worse.

It kinda becomes a combination of habit and addiction. I was watching it for a long time without really enjoying it but couldn't stop incase I missed something or the show took a massive turn and became consistently better (and it seemed like it was about to every other week!).

There's so much content when it comes to the WWE that after you've been consuming so much of it regularly week to week, it's a difficult thing to just cut and run. There's a name for it, I think, when people get invested in something to that extent. I eventually did though and outside of maybe peeking in at WrestleMania (but not watching it), it's been like three-four+ years.

I don't regret stopping though I do miss it on occasion.

well i don't think it was intentional on wwe's part. I just don't think they have many writers on that can think of new ideas so they are stuck reusing the same shit. Its a dangerous game to play from because the fanbase is not growing, but at the same time they are having much more profitable years. If the core fanbase does up and quit, its gonna be rough

It's more a thing of what they do out of character, like Triple H inserting himself into PPVs out of the blue or not giving preferred call-ups to the main shows in his capacity (not as COO as in the show) as executive VP of talent relations.

Or Vince McMahon's preference for pushing talent with "Superman" physiques, especially as show-leading faces, regardless of whether they get the desired reaction. Smaller talent don't typically get to the top of the card as faces, with a few recent exceptions.

If all of that is an elaborate work, consider me an impressed mark.

A lot of it's just fantasy booking, though. Take two performers who could make anyone look good and put them in the same ring. Enjoy the show, and the show behind the show.

Another thing WWE fans are oblivious to is how their complaints come off as an entitled whiny manchild and yet they think their criticism is some holy legit reasonable and fair opinion that the majority apparently shares. I don't know how anyone can go so far down that hole.
