Better hang on, man.

Finished that route. Seems it ends differently than the anime. Think in the anime, shotgun dad takes over the classroom instead of hunting em in the forest. The unexpected camping trip was just as messed up as the anime version. Was expecting a Kazuki appearance after everything, but she never showed. Wonder if I'll run into her on another route. Think I'm on the Makina route this time. Pretty sure none/little of this is covered in the animu.

Is that what we're calling it now? I don't think the genre's actually been named before, since, y'know, there weren't enough anime in it for it to be a genre until recently.

I dunno if there is an official name of the genre (and I do believe it's common enough to warrant being called its own genre). I just call em isekai (lit. parallel world) manga/anime since the majority of them have that in their titles.

Yep, it's gonna be great. At least I'll get to see the ending animated finally though. 192 eps left, expecting at least half to be filler.

In fact I even got tired of canon to the point where I would speed read training segments/exposition and only watch the show when a big fight started

Nah, I'm going to watch it all, even the godawful filler.

edit: If I were doing a rewatch, I'd definitely use a filler guide though.

I feel you here. I'm watching the last of the good stuff I have left, to love ru. As much as anime gets a bad rap for being a bunch of pervy trash, there really isn't enough of it thats decent.

Got reminded that the Steam release of Higurashi is up to Chapter 5 now. I need to catch up. Then again, I need to catch up on a lot of things.

Fire Emblem Echoes is happening soon, but Persona 5 is still the big story here. I am at the point where writing fanfic for it is a when, not an if.

Not a good anime season for me. Too many other things to do.

Sega are really delivering the goods this year with Yakuza 0, Bayonetta for PC and now Vanquish, not to mention the fact that the PS4 remake of the original Yakuza is coming to the West in a few months too, this almost- ALMOST- makes up for the fact that we never got PSO2 over here and if they localise even that then I may just spontaneously combust from happiness

definitely not happening at this point, unfortunately

pso2 definitely feels like a world that slightly evolves bit by bit over time- while technically you can start at episode 4 (the game essentially forces you to if you're new, and claims temporary amnesia due to events from episode 3), it would be really fucking jarring to just skip over about half a dozen meticulously crafted raid bosses treat them all in the past tense

i can't see starting at an earlier point (beginning of ep 3) and speeding up the process would be healthy for the game, either. pso2 is a really casual game, and rushing people to keep up with content would kinda suck

I've been reading the manga, and there really is something weird about it. Like, the pacing jumps forward and slows down at really weird times, sometimes the plot for an arc gets so twisted and convoluted but other times it's as cliched and predictable as can be.

But even so, there's something there that I can't pinpoint that makes me want to keep reading.

On ep 316 of Shipuuden. Wonder just how long they're gonna ride this edo tensei filler train for. They keep trying to pull your heart strings, but it's all superficial and falls flat of course.

I hear Akane, and I automatically think of Akane from Ranma, followed by the standard helpings of violence, shouting, etc.

I try not to think of Akane from Psycho Pass because I find her face disturbing.

Up through chapter 850 of One Piece. I knew there had to be something fucking wrong with Pudding. There's no damn way Oda is just gonna throw Sanji's perfect girl right into his lap like that. Arc is heating up at this point, though no Zoro and Robin is a bit of a bummer.

Was going to go an acquire a show, but don't have a place to grab it. Guess I'm going to have to sign up for that site that was pmed to me from quiggy and see if they have it. Baka is back up, but they don't have it unfortunately.

Nobody wants to fall into the same black hole as Togashi, after all.

He should've really taken the opportunity to end HxH when he had the chance after chimera ant/election arcs. Don't mind where HxH is heading in the manga now, but it seems like it's gonna be a large arc and I'm quite doubtful it'll ever get finished.
