Arrow was so great. I can't wait to get to the moment where Oliver finally takes care of the villain. Flash is kinda sitting in the dumb relationship spot Arrow used to be in since they just apparently can't write good romance for these shows. The episode was still decent enough, but I'm ready for them to just kill the romance because it isn't good and hasn't ever been good between them imo. Next week is the musical crossover I think. I still gotta watch Supergirl, but I've heard the writing in it gets so bad it makes the bad writing in Arrow S3-4 look amazing.

Barry/Patty was cute without all this awkward drama though it probably would've gone there if she stuck around. Oliver/Felicity wasn't bad at the start either until some moron/s decided to do some GREAT DRAMA with them.

I like Alex/Maggie in Supergirl, if only because all the people whining about it being 'shoehorned' and 'forced' are basically saying what I feel about every Mandatory Generic Romance Subplot in every show (well, apart from the bit about it being liberal SJW propaganda undermining civilisation).

So yeah, get rid of it all. Or at least just let them be happily in love so they can get on with the actual superhero plots.

The only issue with Alex and Maggie was the relentlessly obnoxious coming out storyline that was piss boring and consisted of a lot of whining. But now that they're past that drama, Alex and Maggie are really fun.

However, I wouldn't say that Supergirl gets Arrow Season 3-4 bad. When Supergirl is bad, it's usually because of really silly melodrama that doesn't make much sense, or it has an aggressively bad character like James Olsen involved (which, if you pay attention, most good Supergirl episodes don't include him!).

I honestly think that most of the time, Legends of Tomorrow is the best of the CW shows. Like this week was great because they actually take the time to look at their characters. But when it's bad, it is really bad, sadly.

I would say that he is by far the least interesting character on the team this season

Doesn't help that Firestorm as a whole has been almost absent from the last 8 episodes or so, aside from the evil version of him in Rip's mind.

They just gotta drop him I think next season. I don't even mind him as a character but there's not really a big role on the team for Jax.

Unless this REALLY nosedives in the next 4 episodes I don't think the rotten tomato score makes sense.


I'm not super enthralled, and this isn't as good as Daredevil or Jessica Jones, but I think it's pretty decent. It's done nothing to to concern me that it's going to be a bad show.

Agreed. I'm four episodes in and it's worth watching. Never expected it to be on par with Daredevil.

I was thinking about the latest Arrow and it got me wondering what role Artemis even has. She hasn't shown up or even been mentioned in a while and now Prometheus has Talia with him so why even need Artemis at all? I'm sure she has way less skill than those two and I can't see her really doing anything to Oliver's group. I mean maybe she could hurt Curtis, but that's probably the best she could manage without a case of bad writing.

I'm trying to watch Iron Fist but every time I try to load it up, Netflix boots me out. Other shows still work fine.

To me, Artemis filled her role for Prometheus and allied with him more for her own personal reasons. Prometheus doesn't really need her any more per se but she could still have interest in partnering with him to get back at Oliver.

I'm on the last episode of Iron Fist.

It is the first Marvel Netflix show to actually get BETTER as it goes on. Episode 6 onward has been really outstanding.

Iron Fist so far seems like it would be a good show for Mystery Science Theater 3000. Forgot a word.

I'm somewhat enjoying the show, but there have been moments where I think I would love the show if it were being made fun of. Not the best endorsement I guess.

Like when (spoilers for first two eps of Iron First) Danny steals Douche-Bro's car in the parking lot and Douche-Bro's reaction is to jump in the car with him? Why in god's name would anyone jump in a car with a carjacker that they think is a crazy person.
Or in the second episode when the dead dad is questioning Danny in his drugged up state and his reaction to hearing "The Hand" was for some reason absolutely hilarious to me "Wait what sworn enemy of who?" I'm honestly not sure if the delivery was supposed to be funny or not though, it's like the show is caught in a limbo between campy and serious and can't quite pick which it is.
And dammit Danny, if you're about to be let out of the crazy person hospital don't then decide to explain about the magical dimension or whatever you trained in. "Oh, looks like you're leaning towards letting me go as you believe me when I say who I am now! Have I told you about the magical dimension that only appears every 15 years where I did my super magic kung fu training? Well this is a good a time as any!"

And the white lines effect when he's doing his meditation whatever looks like it was thrown together in about 5 minutes in After Effects.

I'm up to ep7 I think for S1 of Legends of Tomorrow. Last one I saw had Star City in the year like 2040 something. Best characters so far are Snart, Rory and Sara. Stein is also pretty great and Ray has his moments. I'm sure the others will get better as it goes on maybe. Rip is uh kind of not very good at much of anything though >_>

Legends is a show you kinda have to turn your brain off a bit to enjoy. If your character isn't Snart or Rory, then something facepalmy is probably happening.

Like in the most recent episode, season 2 episode 14 Ray is fighting Thawne in space. Ray has full use of his suit. Thawne has a knife and doesn't have his speed because apparently super speed requires gravity, which we all know definitely does not exist in space. You might think that any kind of motion could be sped up, but no, Thawne is basically the equivalent of a street thug brandishing a knife...and he is almost a match for Ray in his suit, who even smacks him with an energy blast.

Later on, the Waverider gets smacked by a bunch of meteors because apparently there is an asteroid belt just past the moon and they all decided to bunch together on the off chance a time ship meanders about. The thing that can handle all kinds of abuse like a nuke is conveniently all but destroyed. I am sure by the time I finish this episode something else cringeworthy will happen.

These are the kind of flaws I learned to live with The Flash since it fully realizes how it is abusing science and takes it in creative stride, but here in LoT, it is being used for lazy plot, and that works against my enjoyment of it despite loving the general theme.

edit: I was right...YOU ARE ON THE FRIGGIN MOON THAWNE. YOU CAN NOT TELL ME THAT THE MOON DOES NOT HAVE GRAVITY. USE. YOUR. SPEED. AAAAARGHHHHHH

^ I choose to believe that the whole 'gravity' thing was an in-universe mistake, and actually the Speed Force simply doesn't extend that far beyond Earth's surface.

I'm sure there's hundreds of comics (and probably one or two Arrowverse episodes) that contradict that, but it's still far less stupid than what they wrote in that episode.

So I finished Iron Fist.

While it meanders a lot, and there's a few movements in the plot that don't really make a lot of sense, I really enjoyed the series. I was thoroughly satisfied with how it ended. There's one small thing they are hinting at for next season that I'm really not a fan of, but besides that, it was good.


It's definitely not as good as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. It's MUCH better than the second half of Luke Cage. If you are a fan of these shows, and are hungry for more MCU, I think it's definitely worth it.

Woo, finished Iron Fist. Overall good show. Doesn't really hit the same highs as Daredevil or Jessica Jones, but doesn't really hit many lows either. Satisfying conclusion.

One thing that's weird/disappointing though is The Hand on this show was like in no way similar to The Hand from Daredevil. I mean, I know they've mentioned there being multiple factions, so I guess the people Daredevil's dealing with are just a different group, but I still would've liked to see the crazy ninja assassins again for at least one episode.

enjoyed the show but uh yeah that cliffhanger for next season was so dumb and didn't make a lick of sense. not the cool kind of nonsense that makes you go OH GOD WHAT I GOTTA SEE THAT but the awful kind that makes you say "please please don't do that this is just stupid"

Very few superhero shows can do a cliffhanger for a season. I much prefer when you get a wrap.
