all i do is explore every inch of the world

really enjoying this game, not finding the weapon degradation a problem, or the stamina, or w/e

still only 1 dungeon down, tempted to go to death mountain, might explore more of central hyrule instead. i have a ton of stronger weapons now + more hearts.

i've only ever upgraded hearts the whole game. still on basic stamina bar. should i upgrade that?

Yeah it definitely not worth the extremely low drop rate it has, it's really more of a display piece for your house.

Zelda's Twilight Bow is really good through and is worth save resetting for.

I recently got to play finally. I'm not very far, but I'll leave some thoughts in spoilers regardless. Not gonna read through the topic to see how far people actually are. Guessing 95% are further into the game than me, but you never know.

I spent a couple of hours running around Great Plateau before actually heading to the tower. This probably wasn't clevar considering the locations of various shrines, but I was hooked by the vast overworld. Found a Korok, which I guess confirms this game as being in the Adult timeline and due to there being a hero, it has to be at least after Wind Waker and thus also Phantom Hourglass? I haven't followed what has been confirmed about this at all, but that would be my guess so far. I found a wird Stone boss, which took a lot of my weapons to beat, but I loved how I got a boss with a title coming in and everything just from wandering around.

The shrines are fun so far imo. These abilities could provide fun puzzles in the future. Infinite bomb bag is nice, also weird considering swords are not limited, at least for now. Was very pleased to find the old man on top of the mountain so I don't have to constantly have to prepare and eat food that gives cold resistance. Paraglider is great too. Chose the Heart Container for now.

The world just because infinitely bigger basically, which is great. I still travel east first, though I'm not heading straight for Impa yet. Exploring as I see. The Shrine Signal is great, but I wish you could turn it off when being close to a Shrine (can you do this?). Exploring most of this place before heading to Impa. Also found a Shrine in the area where Hyrule Castle was because my signal picked up. Cool to find stables since seeing actual other NPCs than the old man is great. Found a very useful cap that gives me more stamina though I forgot where. Need to actually catch a horse soon.

Used all the Zelda amiibo once. Though I don't have the new ones yet I have all the previous ones. Got the TP clothes and a Sheik cap among a bunch of semi-rare items. Loving this so far, I can easily lose countless hours playing, but I'm very excited to get to dungeons and such.

Hopefully I can find time to play within the next days. I don't wanna bring my Switch on the go to play Zelda. It looks good handheld, but way better on a big screen.

You can turn off the Shrine signal altogether on the map menu. Just press Y, I think. It says what button in the bottom-right.

Eh, that just ain't worth it to me, especially when the Zelda amiibos seem to be rare/expensive now. Even if that dies down in a couple weeks or a month... I'll probably have beaten the game by then.

I beat eventide island!

One of the best moments in gaming for me since the storm king in demon souls. Almost everything on the island was capable of one shotting me, and my wife was like "why not just come back when you're stronger"

But because I'm not a huge b**** I got it on my third try. It was great being forced to sneak up on things, being on the brink of death constantly.

Mechanics spoiler:
learning that I can set down metal weapons during a thunderstorm as a lightning rod booby trap was awesome

I couldn't get that one. I lined up the shot fine, but 6 hits with the hammer sent it too far and 5 hits didn't send it far enough. Then the hammer broke and none of my other weapons were doing anything.

RIGHT? It happened organically too! I accidentally hit drop instead of remove because I was so frazzled and about to die to an enemy that was WAY over my head.

Then I watched it unfold with wide eyes. Me and my wife both screamed with happiness.

One thing that blew my mind after I beat this was a story of someone on the part with 3 bokoblins on high rising platforms -- with a bokobolin on a separate platform on one tree, the guy simply cut the tree down and was shocked it worked. Made me go back and try it myself. Sadly the act doesn't kill him, but when you fight him it's still stealth and you can go on unnoticed

Yes, I think all metal equipment/weaponry can attract it. Yesterday I noticed that during a storm, if you go into your menu, all of your weapons (I didn't check clothing) which could potentially get you struck had a little lightning animation on them. Pretty cool touch.

The actual outfit you wear doesn't seem to effect though, I was testing it out in a lightning storm earlier.

Yeah, one of my favorite moments so far was a Wizzrobe conjuring a lightning storm, hitting me with an attack, causing me to drop a boomerang, then running into it, only to be killed by it's own magic.

I love looking for Korok seeds! I'm up to 27 so far and have only unlocked 3 sections of the map. I have no idea how many there are or what you get from them, but it's been a joy to just come across random little puzzles like this while exploring. Plus, it's great that they show up on the map once you complete them.

If you ever see like a short treestump platform with a leaf that usually marks a race challenge, or a windmill is often an arrow challenge... you can also find them hiding under lone rocks at the top of mountains, or running over some unique flowers...

Basically anything that looks fishy, check it out and you can probably find a korok

(and if you want a tip for finding your first one... the first I found directly north of Great Plateau's Oman Au Shrine, jumping off the edge of the plateau there)
