Opened a Harrison Jones from my Brawl pack. Might be a few formats too late but solid pick up overall.

Now that I've reset my pity timer, I can focus on saving up gold for the next expansion, which is a plus.

The one thing about Gadgetzan being so aggro and running me into wild that has been a blessing in disguise is the pity timer. I hit it the first week or so into the expansion and I have to be getting close to hitting it for the second consecutive time, but because I don't really want any of the legendary cards the double pity timer doesn't feel so bad.

And hell, while I wasn't too crazy about White Eyes for my pity legendary I've used him quite a bit.

I've probably opened less than 30 Gadgetzan packs total, which is less than half of what I opened in WOTOG, and nowhere close to Classic obviously.

I ended up crafting Kazakus and Patches, and got most of the relevant common stuff in those 30 packs. So many of the legendaries are irrelevant so I went back to focusing on Classic, which has allowed me to fill in a lot of the epics I was missing from my collection.

I know that, I meant that I no longer have to spend gold on Classic packs, mostly because I can expect not to get another Legendary for awhile.

Had swipe, Fandral and taunts in my opening hand that second game so was one of the few times I could have probably handled pirates!

So the increased epic rate just gave me an arena where I drafted three Call of the Wild. Not sure if that card is still good in arena or not, guess I'll get to figure that out.

Just a random question, but what is everyones least favorite trio of classes to choose from in arena? I'd probably go with Warrior/Rogue/Druid.

Don't think I've ever done a Druid or Warrior run. And I think I have only ever done 1 Hunter and Warlock run.

I tend to try to stick to Mage, Paladin and Rogue if I can (in that order)

I try to play relatively evenly, but Warrior is easily the worst, unless you get a Fool's Bane. A bad paladin draft, which seems to happen more often than with other classes, is pretty terrible to play with. Hunter sucks if you don't get enough reach but is great if you do.

I don't play arena, but I just dislike the Paladin class in general. I hope it's bad forever.

Least favorite classes are Rogue/Priest/Paladin. I somehow have a higher average with Warrior than Rogue by a lot (multiple 12-win warrior, while I don't know if I've ever hit double digits as rogue), though the changes to arena makes warrior painful now.

I used to get hate messages about my Paladin deck all the time. It was kind of baffling because it wasn't even aggro, it was kinda midrange and Shaman at the time was way worse to play against plus Paladin was trash.

I guess it may have been because at least people knew what was coming with Shaman

I have PTSD about being a new player and continually matching up against Secret Paladin with my basic decks, and because of that I'll always have an irrational hatred for it.

WOTOG Secret Paladin was fun like LOE Patron Warrior was

Guess being Tier 2 or 3 instead of Tier 1 helps a deck out big time!

Weird. I usually avoid warrior, but I definitely have the best rack record with rogue. I don't play arena enough to have a long list of 10+ win decks, but probably close to 3/4 of them were rogue or paladin.

Get what I think is a really good mage deck, go 1-3.
Get a pretty meh mage deck, go 4-3.

Man I am rusty though. 3-3, 1-3, 4-3 in last 3 arenas =/

I find with the changes in arena, mage isn't as good.

Possibly but I also am really rusty too having not played at all since Gadgetzan release. I should have probably done better.

Two arenas since the change, 1-3 Mage and 2-3 Hunter, though the Hunter got really unlucky.

Game 1, my Huge Toad spit on an Amani Berserker to give him lethal when he was at 1 health with five other minions on board. Anything else and I just hero power for the win at the end of his turn. Game 2 I had to play Call of the Wild into a secret because I had no other spells in my hand or deck at that point other than Call of the Wild, with a second one already in my hand. Of course it was Counterspell. Next turn after he topdecks a secret I play the other Call of the Wild. Counterspell. Sour.

The other loss has nothing to do with luck, I just got steamrolled by a Warlock. Hoping my next run works out better.

I've only done one run, an 8-3 Hunter, whose eight 1- and 2-drops included a Fiery Bat, 3 Bilefin Tidehunters, and a Murloc Tidehunter, and then also had Dreadscale. Early games were usually very awkward.

40 more Shaman wins until I no longer have to be evil

Been climbing ladder with Aggro Rogue and Midrange Shaman, seems to be working pretty well! The Rogue even has the Murloc package because Finja is great and OP

I'm incredibly sad that I opened up a Finja on one of the first days of the expansion and disenchanted it because I needed the dust and thought it would never see competitive play.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't think so either and then a month ago I crafted it to play Anyfin Pally and now I use it in just about every aggro deck I play. >_>

I had quests to win with select classes, so I queue up one of my control decks, and keep getting pitted against shamans who are running Bloodlust. Just when I think I've turned the corner and got the game under control, I have 3 totems and 1 peon charging at me for lethal. In one game, the guy played two bloodlusts and killed me from 30.

So I switch to some crappy hunter deck I have, and instantly get paired against nothing but pirate warrior. All I want is to complete my stupid quests, man...

Nah. Mage is 100% the best class in arena right now. Priest is good, though.

Druid and Warrior are the classes that basically don't even exist right now.

Yeah I think mages are a bit silly with how many spells you can draft. I had the option to take 5 flame lances in my last draft. I think I only ended up with 3 but I also had a lot of other stupid junk.

I played some arena today and then instantly remembered why I don't play arena. Then again I kinda just want some more golden heroes so I can look like a sweet ranked/arena king whenever I play both.

That reminds me, now that golden cards can be used for arena, what do you guys do with them now?

I immediately disenchant every golden card and will continue to do so, eagerly awaiting the future patch where I can turn golden cards off in arena, which I expect to release sometime in 2018 or maybe later.

Also hoping they eventually allow me remove the undustable cards from my collection while creating a deck.

I'm a collector so I don't DE anything I don't have multiples of.

The only exception is when something gets nerfed in which case I DE everything for maximum dust. Otherwise I don't DE at all actually cause I don't need the dust and who knows what'll be nerfed.

I will always disenchant golden cards.

In addition, I've already fully committed to only playing Standard by disenchanting all of my GvG cards. I look forward to next month when I'll get somewhere around 10k dust after disenchanting BRM, LoE, and TGT.

I used to care about collecting cards, until I stopped playing Yugioh and was left with boxes of cards that get more worthless as time goes on. Digital cards don't take up space, but they're even more useless if I'm never actually going to play with them anymore.

I realized that the only card I was missing for full powered Jade Druid was Fandral, so I crafted him and went 10-2 from Rank 19 to 14.

Maybe it's because this class is new to me (I had 4 ranked wins with Druid before making this deck), but I'm having more fun with the game than I've had since the first week of the expansion.

Winning consistently is definitely a good way to ramp up the fun factor!


I've been too busy looking for a new place to live (moving out in 3 weeks!), planning a wedding and a honeymoon as well as working 6 days with more responsibilities than before to play any HS recently.

I haven't been playing much of anything at all except "sit down and zone out while playing" kinds of games. HS is too much of a mental activity that I get too invested into to play with half measures and I'd just stress myself out even more. Which sucks because I'd like to be able to at least knock out my daily quests twice a week just to not feel like I'm always slowly falling behind in terms of HS gold and dust, but I know that I'd wind up playing more than I really should right now.


I'm pretty excited about the next expansion from what i've seen though. I intend to play the crap out of it in July!

Yeah when you mess around with a class you don't really play all that much it can be pretty fun. Plus Druid is super fun to play if you are a Timmy in any way because you can play big guys all the time

Fandral might actually be the best class Legendary in the game right now. Van Cleef, Jaraxxus, and of course Tirion are close but Fandral is so versatile and turns your spells into extremely scary cards

I still think it's Tirion just because he provides such excellent value on his own with no help. Fandral goes above that but needs to be comboed with other cards, but the snowballing is huge. Fandral Nourish is a hell of a thing.

But Paladin is poop right now so I still might agree.

Edwin is the only really good class legendary I'm missing now, and because of that I've spent even less time playing Rogue than I have with Druid.

I'll craft him eventually, but at this point I'm waiting to see how the meta looks after the new expansion.

The short answer is you can't.

The long answer is the same. Hunter is incredibly bad right now, for a variety of reasons.

Try a tempo mage deck. Lot of basic cards in tempo mage.

Wild you could probably pull off a Face or NZoth Hunter pretty easily. Standard.... Well at that rank you could try Reno or Secret Hunter.

(Or Barnes/Ysharj for the memes but I don't know if you have those cards)

also I don't want to play Mage, I want to play Hunter. I guess I should have been specific... I've been above rank 19 before. I'm right now trying to make Hunter work and I can't get it to work. Face Hunter is my current strategy but it's not going great.

nothing seems to work in this meta. but I dunno. I guess I love a challenge. I mostly played Priest for the last few expansions if that's any indication.

well I haven't had much time to dedicate to Hearthstone lately. my actual strategy for the deck I'm using was to literally just throw a bunch of low cost minions in there and make an extremely low curve, then rely on my hero power and spells to push. eventually I ended up putting Infest in there to help prevent running out of steam. I think the problem is that I don't have much experience playing Hunter so I'm not even sure which cards should be good or how to make a coherent Hunter deck.

Speaking of Hunter, against all odds, I've still yet to best a Hunter in ranked play since the expansion.

As unbelievable as that sounds, it's true, because after the first 3-4 losses, I started keeping track of my games against Hunter, mostly because I was baffled at the outcome.

I am now officially 0-10 against Hunter after my most recent game. Over the course of those 10 losses, I have played Renolock, Reno Mage, Jade Shaman, Jade Druid, and Dragon Priest. It honestly feels like every Hunter gets the best possible hand against me every single time.

I don't understand.

no but seriously it's not my goal to reach Legend or anything like that. I just want to construct a clever, off-meta deck and have it actually work. any input would be appreciated. especially from those who understand the Hunter class or just what works in the current meta.
