Notable things... - Etna was beating Link by as many as 10 votes at one point - Shadow Bombplex gets on the board as Naoto beats Victor - After 7 days, Mass Effect has a record of 5-1!

13 - Kanji Tatsumi (Persona 4, Shadow Bombplex) (0-2) 22 - #25 Magus (Chrono Trigger, Ye Olde Squaresoft) (2-0)
18 - Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper, Game Jumping) (1-1) 15 - Kyle Hyde (Hotel Dusk, Nintendo Power) (0-2)
24 - Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin's Creed II, Playstation All-Stars) (1-1) 10 - Alicia Melchiott (Valkryia Chronicles, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (1-1)
18 - Recette Lemongrass (Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (1-1) 17 - N (Pokemon, Nintendo Power) (0-2)
Notable facts - Yu was beating Pikachu 10-1 at one point, only to have Pikachu go on a 19-7 run to pull off the win - With Tali's win, Mass Effect is only the second series in this contest where all characters have a win, the first being Metal Gear Solid (in terms of great amounts of characters in the contest) - Ezio performs well after being upset last week - Shadow Bombplex is 1-18 right now.

Too bad swirl was convinced, we're a bit heavy on the fodder this year. How many characters have ever gone winless in these? If the total is low we could surpass that total with this game alone.
I honestly feel that the nomination phase should be more strict. I mean, I got to test a couple of characters that I like thanks to it being very abusable, but some of the characters that got in really baffle me.

My problem with it is a lot of top level stuff gets left out in favor of crap a few people want to see lose abysmally each match. A lot of more interesting matches get sacrificed on the whims of a few people with obscure taste and it's lame.
Had I known that none of my characters had a chance I would've nominated stuff that could actually do well <_<.
For example, I love Crimson Viper but seriously, why is she in and Ryu, Ken, Bison, Chunners and the characters that actually matter are out? Why Kingler? I'm honestly against filling the roster with random pokémon despite loving the franchise, and Kingler is the very definition of "random" because most people don't really care about it.
And obviously the RPG fodder, but the board seems to support that kind of stuff to some extent so what do I know?
I'm not talking about taste here, I like C. Viper more than, say, Ken. It's actually trying to nominate stuff that makes some sense.

We were heavy on RPG fodder well before Dad got back in. At least he's from a new game to the contest (or series depending on how technical you want to be).
Jake Peril was the only character who went winless in NCAA Characters II. I think we had a couple of Dynasty Warriors go winless in the first one, but we would've finished with only one of those had I actually finished the season.
22 - #24 Revolver Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear ACE) (2-0) 15 - Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (0-2)
15 - Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes, Shadow Bombplex) (0-2) 21 - Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (2-0)
27 - #20 Vivi Orunitia (Final Fantasy IX, Playstation All-Stars) (1-1) 9 - Shulk (Xenoblade, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (0-2)
13 - Pascal (Tales of Graces, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (0-2) 19 - Tidus (Final Fantasy X, Playstation All-Stars) (1-1)
16 - Rita Mordio (Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Democracy, Ho!) (1-1) 18 - Cecil Harvey (Final Fantasy IV, Ye Olde Squaresoft) (2-0)
Notable Facts - Urdnot Wrex might be Top 25-bound next week. Sonic's appearance on the top 25 might be in jeopardy - Shadow Bombplex gets its second win of the season! - Manny's still undefeated, awww yeah

With so many video game characters out there, there's a higher chance of more fodder entrants. Unfortunately we got the short end of the stick this year. I can't just make the field myself because I haven't played every game and would definitely miss some strong characters. Also, some people really want to see a character they like for the course of a season, even if they aren't going to be tourney bound. It's a tough situation.

Wrex is a near lock for top #25, Garrus might make it too (we'll have to see his next match-up, but that 28-10 win over Pascal is looking a lot better now). Happy to see the Mass Effect appreciation.
I expected my two favorite characters (Manny and Mordin) to be fodder. Instead they're 4-0 and seem like they're at least top 64 worthy. Happy to see this too!
Grim Fandango was unbeaten for a little while in NCAA Games II as well, and even earned some top 25 consideration from people who won't be named for a while because of it!
