As far as I can tell, there is one mod that does that, it's super buggy, and it's not included in tekkit.

My computer crashed. It appears that there is some corruption on the server. I am going to try to restore it, but until I do, the server has to be closed until further notice.

EDIT: Bad news, it seems like the backup isn't working. Some chunks may be reset.

Server is back up. I don't know who was on when it crashed, but it might have affected things for you. Please make sure that you have everything and let me know. Note that I am not sure how Minecraft repairs worlds. It might have reset the chunk.

i just am now getting my computer set back up...

so i log on to see how things are, there was a new tekkit version it asked me about, i upgraded. logged on...and my inventory was wiped and everything was reset. it said i was missing some mods too. :(

Figured I would log on just to see if reverting to an older version would help. I went with the recommended build.

I was able to log on without it telling me I was missing mods. I even seemed to have torches in my selection bar. Nothing else. : /

So I am stuck at spawn at 1.5 hearts and low food because I had tried running to my place but it decided nope...I should be at spawn when I log on.

Very odd. Do you know which items you lost? I can try to restore them later on tonight in a chest or something. I can't at the moment.

This happened to me before when I accidentally logged on with vanilla. Did you lose any vanilla items? I see that you still had torches.

It has been weeks since I have been able to play, but I basically lost my go to technic gear. Quantum set, saber, various electric tools, laser, jetpack, lappack and maybe a few other misc things i was carrying at the time depending on what my goal was.

So I have an updated version of minecraft, just not one that I can play online with <_<


Any hints for a minecraft noob messing around in single player?

My biggest problem atm is not having any access to wool early and so I'm sitting in my dark room right now waiting for the sun to rise...

But yeah i'm in night 1 of my first game, I have a very passing knowledge of what builds into what I made a work bench and a furnace, but I didn't have any wood left so I couldn't make charcoal for torches for example.. But it's lame to just be sitting in this room waiting for day light <_<

I'd try to find some caves to explore. You can dig around in the ground to find something, or just explore the map. You could also make a bed to sleep in so that daytime comes sooner.

I can't find any sheep.

I'm in a junglescape, I'm not sure if that hurts my chances of finding sheep maybe? But no wool = no bed. No bed = no quick sunrise. It also means that if I die I wont respawn in the small house I built...

About to be night 3 btw. I have stone tools, a handful of cooked pork chops and some torches.

Day 2 I spent in the mine, and day 3 I spent gradually terraforming in one direction. But I'm moving slowly and obviously leaving a well cut path behind myself so I don't get lost.

you'll also need to farm trees, for charcoal and tool handles.

jungle trees are terrible to farm because they drop 0-1 saplings per tree.

you should find some trees from another biome imo.

yeah, it shouldn't be far.

Also, this is probably a way off, but you should use your first five diamond to make an enchanting table.

level 1 enchantments are awesome on stone tools, and make them as good as iron.

But yeah my new plan is to tear down my current house at daybreak and make a mad dash in one direction. Worst case scenario I create a (very) small shelter while night is falling and pack up again the next day.

You will need iron for tracks, also.

of course, an iron pick with the efficiency enchantment is as good as a diamond pick, so there's that too.

you need an iron pick to mine diamond, redstone, and gold.

Basically, anything that isn't stone or iron.

Iirc they will be lured by you holding some wheat, as will other animals. Lure them into a fenced off area with a gate so you can get in an out, but they can not.

Trees can be almost right next to each other, it shouldn't matter much. Turn bones you get from killing skeletons into bonemeal and instagrow the trees.

To farm, get a hoe and click on dirt blocks close to water. Plant the seeds of your choice. ???. Profit.

Sounds good then. I'll work on a fenced off area next time I play. For now my status is:

-Have a 1 room house.

-Nearby "orchard" of sorts. No bone meal right now but I'm pretty good on wood so I can wait until I decide to actually fight the skeletones.

-3 Iron that I stumbled across on my way to my new home.

-plenty of meat. Is it possible to have a steady supply of cows/pigs? Or do you just kill them and hope that more spawn?



But time to close the game and watch evo instead of trying to do both at once >_>

Animals are persistent, so if you want more you have to breed them. This involves simply giving two of them wheat. Hearts will appear above their head, they'll make out an an infant will spawn. Then they have a cooldown period before they can breed again.

I recommend large wheat farms.

kk, well so far I've been trading off. Spendign 1 day in the mines then spending 1 day landscaping the nearby area to my satisfaction. Finally got some iron so i'll have a bucket and iron pickaxe now too.

Is there any way to prevent endermen from warping into your base? It's really f***ing annoying.

Fill it with water, endermen die in water.

Or keep it two blocks high. They're three blocks tall.

So yeah, that mine is officially closed. Dunno what that noise was and don't want to find out.

Spent the next week or so (in game) expanding the house, and fencing off some cows and pigs.

So now I have a cow farm, sheep farm, pig farm, wheat farm and a 2-room house. Main room has bed, crafting table, and furnace. Adjacent room has 4 large chests. Got some windows installed as well.

There is another mine on the other side of my house and so I think I'll start using that one now.

It's just a random sound effect that sometimes plays when you're in a cave. That's literally all it is, and yes, it's meant to scare you.
