Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is coming out on October 4, 2013. Dimension Films said today that’s when the recently announced sequel to 2005’s Sin City will hit theatres nationwide. Like the first movie, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will be directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. The film’s script is co-written by the duo with William Monahan. There are few details available about the movie right now, but Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba will be returning to the world of Sin City as Marv and Nancy Callahan. Other cast members from the original are expected to return. Production is set to start later this summer at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas. Miramax is producing and financing. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will be released by Dimension Films in the US and Canada, and produced by Quick Draw Productions, AR Films, Miramax and Solipsist. Aldamisa International’s C.O.O. Jere Hausfater and President of International Sales and Distribution Nadine de Barros and will oversee international sales at the Cannes Film Festival.

I'm also surprised they're confident that they can bring back many people from an all-star cast of a movie that released 8 years ago to only decent success.
Most important part here is that, with Nancy Callahan confirmed to make a reapparance (which also means Jessica Alba, aww yeah), it means the plan about 'new stories' to be included in the film is go. Sweet!
