So I don't see the point of crafting gems at this point. You can just sell your 3 gems in the store and get enough money for 2 of the next gem. I guess towards the way end of the spectrum, it will be way cheaper to farm your own gems and craft them.

This game is fun, it just kind of sucks for me because there is a one second lag for all my actions, and it's hard to target enemies because of it. I think it's because my graphics card doesn't quite fit the requirements for the game. It also causes my laptop to overheat after extended playing.
As far as defensive abilities go, use the damaging caltrops, spider summon, and smoke screen which is indispensable in big fights or when you're low on health.

How about dat Split Magic Missile? 3 shots at 50% damage = 150%, I don't see why you would ever not use it. And it seems like it always pierces breakables, while regular Magic Missile doesn't.
Also Arcane Hydra is so good. It's like my own little pet that I can summon anytime and can solo kill lots of things while I look at my inventory or something. Way more useful than that stupid Familiar thing.

I've been rolling with forked lightning + chaining. Seems like the most effective one of the signature spells to fill arcane power quickly so I can drop meteors more often.
I would use arcane hydra but it's against my religion.
No I'll try it eventually just to see it but I'll probably change back after because I don't like to trade in one of my two fire spells. <_< Wizard is sorely lacking fire attack options in this game!

So you're using the passive that gains back AP with signature attacks? I used to use that, but then I just went for the plus max AP and regen one, and of course the health globes regen one, and with the Diamond Skin -7 AP thing, I can usually kill anything using just Arcane Orbs.
Is Meteor good, though? Both it and Blizzard seem weak as hell for the amount of AP they use. 60 AP for a 220% or 280% or something damage attack? Arcane Orb/Obliteration does 230% for half the AP, and the same blast radius.

Yeah using that passive. I think it's practically a must for Meteor cause that thing is so pricey.
I think the big thing that makes meteor have an appeal over Arcane Orb + obliteration rune is that you don't need line of effect to hit things. Makes it better for like, shooting into rooms and stuff you can't really see into well, or hitting key targets that are behind enemies. That also gives it a larger aoe in practice due to you being able to actually hit groups in the center rather than hitting the guy that's closest to you.
Also keep in mind with the damage upgrade it does 260% and 80% over 3 seconds so while Arcane Orb still gives you a bit better raw damage per mana (if they hit the same aoes which as I said-- much easier to attain good aoes with meteor) it's not by as much as you'd think. Also meteor later gets a volley alternate (which is what I'm waiting for) that does 7*80% which potentially straight outdamages on mana per damage but I'm not sure how easy that'll be to aim and hit with all 7.
As for blizzard it seems the big appeal is in the slow. The damage is a good deal lower than either. But the slow is fairly useful.
I mean I'd be using meteor anyway for FIRE but I've also had better success with it than obliterate arcane orb (which is what I was using till I get meteor). I think the damage is overall comparable in most cases but meteor seems a bit easier to use effectively.

From: Lopen | #381 Makes it better for like, shooting into rooms and stuff you can't really see into well, or hitting key targets that are behind enemies.
True, that is pretty useful.
But my general strategy when encountering a big group or room is to just spawn a Hydra as deep as I can, then walk into the center with Diamond Skin and spam Arcane Orb, which I guess is a kind of brute force way to fix the line of sight issue.
From: Ainoxi | #380 Sir Chris gave me the best tip ever: When searching for things on the AH set the max buyout to the 20k range and you'll find some great deals.
I did this with a 3K max buyout a couple of days ago when I was like level 15 and got some really good stuff, it's a great technique
Also, thinking about it, I can see why they got rid of the competitive modes for now, it would be unbalanced as hell. Though it would be hard to be worse than D2 in that regard.

For where I'm at, I use a max buyout of 10K, works great and I can usually get good stuff for about 5k or so.
Azmodan kind of went out like a chump. Nowhere near as strong as Belial. Guess even the lord of sin can't stand against twin chakrams + ball lightning!

Yeah Azmodan was pretty disappointing for me. I just sorta kept running and dropping meteors on him. I didn't even need to heal or even work to dodge really-- I took some minuscule AoE damage but that was it. Hopefully he gets more tricks in higher difficulties.

Also I'm really impressed with the difficulty scaling. I played part of Act 3 alone, and then the same part with someone else, and the enemies aren't just stronger and more plentiful, but they put more combinations of enemies together and such to make it more interesting.

Is there a way to see the stats on the items you've sold? I'm kinda curious which of the items I'm listing are selling but I just sorta mass tossed them onto the market without remembering which was which
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
I have too but I just randomly tossed a bunch of rare items that looked at least somewhat on the market for 2000g each because I felt 2000g was > fallen tooth + that powder stuff
But yeah now I don't know which ones are actually getting interest which doesn't help my ability to sell stuff in the future.
