The amount of people who's opinions can be changed, or who crawl out of the woodwork, when a guy is made to look bad for a couple of months is terrible. Ryder's problem in 2012 has been WWE far more than him. They kill his momentum by writing him into the Kane angle, make him look a chump with Eve, and they cut off his kayfabe ties with Cena to stop him getting a boost there as well. WWE is killing Ryder far more than Ryder is killing Ryder, and they're doing their level best to stop people from caring about him. It's like the whole point of the Ryder/Eve subplot in the Kane/Cena thing was to a) bury Ryder and b) cut off Cena's ties with Ryder so Cena wouldn't be able to plug Ryder's stuff on TV anymore - or he would, it would just make very little sense.

Something odd I was thinking about:
Brock Lesnar spent his entire main event career (prior to 2012) as a SmackDown superstar, back in the days when they actually did keep the brands pretty separate. In fact, I would wager that of all the 1993-present WWE Champions, Brock is the one with the fewest career matches on Raw besides Vince McMahon. He was on Raw from Backlash to Summerslam, so he spent 4 months there.
He moved to SD the night after Summerslam, and stayed there until he left. 4 months on Raw = 16-18 weeks which probably means 10-15 matches, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he never wrestled on Raw again after Summerslam '02.
