i was surprised pleasantly when i clicked on the first search result on youtube for 'friday'

Hot Problems is intentionally bad. They're trying to go for the Friday effect, and it's almost working. Their problem is that their song isn't catchy enough at all. I listened to it once and completely forgot about it in minutes. Friday gets deep in your head.

it isn't even supposed to be intentionally funny, just bad. that way they get a lot of people watching it hoping that they'll talk about it, but that misses what made friday fun to hate - it was catchy and unintentional, so it was fun to hate and bash because of how stupid the song is. this is neither. they'll get people to watch sure, and click dislike of course, but nobody will remember them period.

basically, it's attention whores who discovered youtube.
