On the other hand, it's kind of repetitive. Eh, at the end of the day this sounds pretty but there are a lot of problems with it.

68.5) Talespin Opening Theme

It's a pretty fun intro, but the whole oh-ee-ay, oh-ee-oh thing is working against it rather than for it. As with Duck Tales I'd prefer if a trumpet or some other instrument were blaring out these notes because the vocals kind of annoy me. The ending section (0:49 onward) is the only thing saving this from a terrible placement.

This is a song I used to enjoy a lot more when I was younger, but it hasn't really aged all that gracefully. Based on what series this is, you kind of have to compare My Lullaby with Be Prepared and it pales in every way, shape, and form to it. The lyrics had the potential to be good, only the writers let themselves down. The rhymes are so basic that it's kind of sad: pretty/kitty and howl/growl just don't compare to sordid/rewarded and era/nearer. And "Scar is gone, but Zira's still around to love this little lad til' he learns to be a killer with a lust for being bad" is just an abysmal line and I'd like whomever pitched it to be shot in both kneecaps. The ending is really this song's only saving grace. "And then our flag will fly against a blood red sky. That's my lullaby" gives me chills, albeit little chills.

Let me just say the concept of this song is brilliant and is pretty much the only thing getting it this high. I don't wanna explain the entire background to those of you not in the know, but the character Baljeet, who sings lead in this number, is a hilarious little guy who fears failure but relies on it as the driving force for many of his actions and decisions. The lyrics of this song are bloody fantastic. I like my rules, baby etched in stone cause you know I'm going to stick to them! I need the man keeping me down! Up with the establishment! This isn't a request I demand there be a test today! Et cetera!

The only problem? Baljeet's fail wail voice is god awful. Truly absolutely terrible. That's why I really can't place this any higher.

Yeah, that's why I decided to nominate it. For the 90's and the movie not to have a villain song? That's like, well I suppose several others didn't as well but Jafar is quite popular and famous compared to those guys. He actually did have a song in the movie but they cut it (not sure if you've ever heard it, but once you do you can probably see why: ). I suppose it might make sense sort of because Jafar was slipping into madness by this point, but it makes him seem a little too whiny. While his actual song is better than this one in my opinion, it was a little lacking. The rhymes were better than Zira's song though!

And I got used to new Genie a long time ago unfortunately. Sucks Robin Williams costs too much money.
