Porcupine Tree - Trains

An incredibly original band that revolutionized rock as we know it. Too bad there's so many bad bands around these days that try to copy them. (Pink Floyd, Rush, Radiohead, etc)

Stars of the Lid - Piano Aquieu

Wow this is so long do you seriously think I will listen to a song as long as this? That is some post-rock bull**** right there. I will listen to the first three minutes because that's the length of a NORMAL SONG.

This was boring and dull. I wanted it to burst open into a guitar solo of epic proportions but it never did in those first three minutes. Maybe it did later but I don't care.

Fair To Midland - Musical Chairs

This is a great song off one of my favorite albums from 2011. I have no idea why I like Fair To Midland so much because on paper it doesn't sound all that appealing to me, but they have real charm and a pretty manifestive sound. They also manage to have a killer chorus almost every single time.

I don't really want to work with ratings and let the words speak for themselves.


And yes, that is my real opinion of FtM since April fools has ended in Belgium already. (0:40 am here 2nd of april)

Living Colour - Cult of Personality

I can't deny that this is a pretty good song. Maybe it's because I've heard it so many times in my life. Very classic rock but I like it. Not too big on the solo though, too flashy for my tastes.

Some Nights - Fun. (Some Nights)

On one hand I want pop to go in this direction because there's a huge lack of african influences since Paul Simon monopolized that part of the world in western culture mostly. On the other hand I want it to be a bit more raw than this, sounds a bit too directed at 13 year old girls at times (very synthy/autotune voices like Owl City and Death Cab for Cutie at points). It sounds a bit too glossy but I guess you dig that Mer so it's cool! I'll take anything over the eurobeat brostep culture that's hanging around now in pop. Good song overall.

Blink 182 - Pathetic

Blink 182 is everything that's wrong with pop/skate punk. It doesn't help that it helped form the horrendous genre called 'metalcore', the horrible blend of hardcore, metal and pop punk, either. I understand kids liking this or adults liking this out of nostalgia. It's the fact that it's popular with other people too that baffles me.
