Enjoying my Renegade Shepard playthrough and taking in the differences in the Renegade choices I didn't make in my other playthrough (Killing the original Council, not saving Maelon's data, etc.).

Also, the Renegade Shepard VI is hilarious.

Oh right, I'm playing as an Infiltrator for the first time. Trying to get used to using a sniper rifle. Battles feel like they take longer, but maybe once I get a better rifle and get better at the class, they'll go faster.

I miss Incendiary Ammo though.

Get the Black Widow and you'll be good to go. Throw a sniper rifle concentration mod onto it so the time dilation effect increases.

Cloak, headshot, repeat. Toward the end I could kill brutes in 2-3 headshots.

I didn't cloak as much as I did in ME2, to be fair. I mostly used it against brutes, banshees, and other tough enemies in ME3. Incinerate is also very useful if you have other people with tech abilities to land tech bursts.

Yeah, I've been using Incinerate quite a bit. I do enjoy using Cryo Ammo and watching enemies explode into big chunks of ice from getting shot, too.

Energy Drain makes a great bonus power for an Infiltrator, btw. Gives you a way to deal with barriers and shields. Plus if it shocks them you can nail them with Incinerate for a tech burst.

If a class has two ammo powers I usually only focus in one. Went with Disruptor on my Infiltrator, but I think Cryo would be better on Insanity. I always throw Warp Ammo on Sentinels since they don't get a natural ammo power.

Energy Drain also makes you harder to kill. Shields go down? Drain someone's barriers or shields and you're good to go.

I use Cloak a lot on Insanity, it helps giving Energy Drain more power to completely get rid of shields so I can get a clean headshot. Tactical Cloak is also really good to use in order to flank enemies.

Although like Murph, I didn't use it as much on Normal. Once I got the Black Widow I was taking everything out with headshots so fast that I didn't even need to rely on Tactical Cloak. Different story on Insanity though, naturally.

Makes sense to me. Mass Effect's never been too big on "bosses" anyway. I can't see a fight with the Illusive Man that wouldn't seem stupid.

Harbinger might work, though.

As I said, I don't think a fight with the Illusive Man would be good at all. I still think they should have done more with the confrontation, not a fight, but a Renegade punch would have been nice. A plain ol' gunshot wasn't all that satisfying. But a showdown with Harbinger could have worked somehow. Have some heavy weapons like the Cain and/or Reaper gun and other big stuff lying around, maybe some more targeting laser, it could be epic.

I've been playing a lot of multiplayer of course, icon seems to be the only other one on the PS3 that does as well. I'm on now if any of you wanna try it out a bit before I go back to my Insanity playthrough (just got past Thessia, really not having much trouble at all).

I dunno, with how improved biotic detonations are it might not be too bad. Sentinel is pretty beastly on its own and all I've got is Warp. A pure biotic would do great.

And yeah, the Renegade stuff with the Illusive Man is a bit lacking. The Paragon side is awesome, though. It's great callback to ME1.

I think it'll be easier for Adept this time around since regular enemies don't gain an extra layer of defense this time. So your biotic abilities will still affect them the same as they will on any other difficulty.

As I said I'm having a pretty easy time as an Infiltrator. Granted it's my class, so I'm very good with it. And there has been some sticky situations, and a few wtf moments where I got killed for stupidity. Otherwise I think I would say it's easier than ME2 Insanity. Maybe.

I played through ME2 like 5 times in the span of a month or so. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing through ME3 quite a number of times and YOU SHOULD TOO.

I just started Mass Effect 2
I quit the 1st one after an hour or two of play (although this may have been mostly because I couldn't read text on my old tv)
I like it!!

Playing as a Male Adept (I think it was adept, anyway), just rescued Garrus (decided to delay with the professor cuz Garrus sounded cooler)

Hmm, maybe I'll just switch to Insanity now. For novelty's sake. Best bonus power for an Adept? I've been using Carnage, I feel like it would work pretty well for destroying armor. What weapon? I only want to bring one. I want 200% cooldown, if I can get it.

I got my Infiltrator to level 20 quite a while ago.

Something funny just happened earlier. These stupid packs finally came through for me, a Spectre gave me both a drell and asari Vanguards. I was like NO F***ING WAY. Now I just need a Turian Sentinel and I got 'em all. I still want a damn Widow/Black Widow though, sheesh.

Also drell do die fast. And asari waste their barriers when quick stepping, which is stupid. Since I do that a lot. Krogan move too slow, and turians can't roll so... I don't use them much. Salarians and quarians the best.

SMG with ultralight materials mod is probably your best bet then. If you're an adept I doubt you'll have much use for a gun, so go with that. For armor you should have Warp, right? And you can use that to set up detonations as well. When you see Warp eating away at armor/shields, cast another ability like throw or shockwave or something and it'll detonate.

My girlfriend used assault rifles with her Adept. I can't remember what she started with but endgame she went from the Phaeston to the Geth Pulse Rifle. Buy them up to LV5, get the weight upgrade from your passive, and you should be good.

Assault rifles are useless on an Adept, as I said, you won't be using your gun much.

Then again, if you're like me you don't like going into the power wheel too much. So you'll really only have three powers to choose from. Since I know which enemies I'll be facing and when I would probably switch up my quick commands depending on the mission, but if multiplayer is any indication then Singularity + Warp kills most things.

Oh, and biotic abilities tend to be the best bonus abilities for Adepts, since the class passive boosts biotics.

Reave is great if you have Kaidan. Stasis is probably the best choice overall, especially if you upgrade it to Stasis Bubble. It's an amazing crowd control ability.

Singularity sets up for some very nice biotic detonations because you can catch a couple enemies in the field and get some multi-kills easily that way. I would definitely focus on using Singularity. But you mentioned you needed something for armor, that's Warp. It specializes in damaging armor and barrier. And now it can also set up for detonations, adding to the damage. When you use it on armor/barrier/shields you can see the effects of it eating away on the enemy, and from there you can cast another ability like throw to detonate it.

Yeah but Stasis has such a long recharge time, it's bad for an Adept I think.

Warp is quite strong. It can detonate biotic effects and it turn be detonated itself.

It also weakens armor, making enemies like brutes take more damage from other sources.

And you get enough points by LV60 to max all of your skills but one, and you can get that one to LV3. That includes a bonus power, so it's not like you can't max most everything.

And assault rifles are far from useless on Adepts. With 200% cooldowns you now have a ranged weapon that outdistances the SMG. The only weapon I'd consider truly useless on an Adept is a shotgun. There's plenty of opportunities to use your gun as an Adept. Powers come first, sure, but having a go to weapon is still insanely useful.

Yeah, with my 200% cooldown, I've just been Double Throwing EVERYTHING, and then when somebody has a lot of defenses, I toss a Carnage at it, which only has like a 3sec cooldown for me.

We'll see if it works for Insanity. I might just go with the Paladin as my gun and get some sort of ammo power for it from a teammate.
