I've never liked Default MaleShep, which is a big reason why I play FemShep. Since my options were either the default MaleShep (which I don't care for) or the ugly-ass MaleSheps in the create-a-shep, picking FemShep was a lot easier cause I made a great looking FemShep in every single game.

ShadowHalo17 posted... I disagree about maleShep, even now the default maleShep is still easily the best. Whereas the default femShep is the worst. And right now I'm messing around trying to find a good look for her and it's actually difficult. There are only two hair settings that actually look good on her. This is pretty terrible.
Good thing for me I never play as a femShep.
Try making a custom male Shepard without using the default as a base, then try making that look good. In the first two games it's near impossible.

FemShep in general got nerfed big time. The trade off is that it's easier to make a decent looking Shepard, the bad is that making a super-hot Shepard is tougher than ever.
Dammit, I wanted my Halle Berry Shepard.
It's true. But, hey, my Renegade girl looks great in the game. Much better in game than in the menu, too.
My original girl still looks decent, too.

That's my classic Shepard. He's kinda ugly but he grew on me over time. In game he looks a bit worse because his face is kinda flat looking. Like maybe he got smashed in the face with a blunt object a few times.

This is my full Renegade Shepard. Looks much better. He looks awesome when the Renegade scarring comes in.

Honestly, I've searched through ME2faces so many times for a decent MaleShep. Nothing really works with the custom editor, they all look like they're 40 and have squinty eyes.
This is probably the best Custom MaleShep:
Too bad his voice doesn't fit.

Here's my What-I-Would-Choose FemShep, Infiltrator, and the Shepard I identify with for Mass Effect. Used this in ME2 and ME3 (with a couple tweaks). She had the red hair before that was the "default."

Me and Character Creation systems don't get along.
I've already restarted ME3 at least a dozen times trying to get my FemShep right, and every now and then I test a new face that if I would like it enough, I would completely start over.
The amount of times I've started ME2 trying to find the right face might have been 50+.
This is a problem with any game that has a character creation system that's based on sliders and not preset faces. Also, any system that doesn't allow you to change your appearance down the road. It drives me nuts if there's just one thing I don't like about the character, and it takes all my strength NOT to restart a character I've played as for multiple hours.
I will sit there for an hour tweeking a face, not like it, start over and spend another hour. I'm sick like that.

Rock, the good news is that you can decide very quickly if it looks good or not. Obviously, faces look very different in-game than on the creation screen. Early on, when Anderson starts talking to you on Earth, you stop to answer a question. I think it might be the first "choice" of the game. It shows Shepard's face, fully lit in solid lighting. That's as far as you have to go.
When I made this black Renegade Shepard, I redid it once after seeing it there and deciding to try again.

That is one great thing about ME3. It throws you into the creator right away and you can get a good look at your Shepard like five minutes into the game.
ME2 makes you play the Normandy segment every single time.
And damn, Defense Matrix is an ideal bonus power for an Engineer. The cooldown reduction is negligible and you get a 25% damage bonus to tech powers when it's up.

As somebody who can't import ME1 (PS3), I also have to wait through the comic!

The pistol you get from Spectre Requisitions, the Paladin, is freaking awesome. Even on Insanity the thing is really powerful. Just gotta get a scope for it and I'm good to go.
Decided to go with pistols and SMGs on my Sentinel. Feels like classic ME2 style.

Aww yeah, just got the Master and Commander trophy. Now all I need are the two Insanity trophies, and then the Overload Specialist. Which I'll either get on my next playthrough or just from multiplayer.

I'll miss out on the Insanity trophy since I switched too late. Unless I do Insanity with Hurp Durp Shepard. But considering I'll be skipping all side quests and doing everything I can to ruin the fate of the galaxy, that seems like a bad combination.

Are you just hitting them with Overload or actually Overloading their shields? You have to actually remove their shields using Overload for it to count. And it has to be you, not your teammates.
Pyromaniac is bugged, however. Biotic kills that cause the enemy to disintegrate give you kills towards Pyromaniac for some reason.

One of the Insanity achievements/trophies requires you to finish all the missions on Insanity, so you'd miss out on that one.
You could also clear all the multiplayer maps on Gold to get it.
You'd still get the one for beating it, though.

So I can't use Garrus or EDI? Well, that's stupid.

You get the trophy for just beating all the maps on Gold? Well, lol, in that case I'll get it no problem.

All the achievements like that require Shepard to be the one who's actually doing the work. Even the biotic detonations/tech bursts one requires you to deal the final blow, IIRC.
It's not really a big deal, though. Those achievements pop incredibly fast if you have the power you need. I got the Overload one in like three rounds of multiplayer going against Cerberus and Geth.

So, guys, I ask you, can we compile a list of things that I can do as a Paragon (non-interrupt/persuasive) Herp Derp Shepard to have the most unfortunate luck possible?
Obviously killing everything but Zaeed and somebody else at the end of ME2. What else? I'm assuming no loyalty missions.
-- Women come and go, but Metal Gear is forever. Perfect Odds A Cappella ~ http://i43.tinypic.com/34pdhc7.jpg
I haven't had any bugs with the trophies at all. And you don't actually have to break the shields of the enemies with Overload for it to count. At least from what I could tell. In multiplayer I used overload on a Centurion or whoever, it didn't completely get rid of their shields but I still got a pop-up for the Specialist trophy.
Also you can check your progress on the main menu. Go to extras.

It's not quite as simple as not doing loyalty missions. You actually have to plan and do certain things to get everyone killed. I watched my girlfriend do a Garrus/Tali only survivors run and she had to do specific things to make that happen.
Kasumi/Zaeed seems fitting. Both DLC characters alive, then kill off Zaeed in the end.
There's more options in that thread if you look back towards the beginning.

It really is stupid that Miranda doesn't even change her clothes if she's on the run from Cerberus and such. That's one of my complaints for the game, Jack is the only one that actually had a makeover. Everyone else is wearing exactly what their default appearance was in the second game. It's annoying to me.

Actually, you can't.
I know it seems weird, but the early missions (Earth and Mars) make the character look a lot better thanks to the angles they use. It's once I got past there is when I saw what the character will look like for the rest of the game.
I don't know about you, but it's like "looking good... looking good... looking goooooood... WHAT THE F***?!!?" I've learned though that if I don't like the characters look early on it's just going to get worse, so if the initial look is off I usually quit.
