See, as a vanguard I could get 200% cooldown while having both an SMG and an assault rifle equipped. But then I switched to a pistol and bought the Paladin.

Holy s*** I love this gun. It tears through shields like nothing, and turrets went from huge pains in the ass to easily disposed of in a few shots.

At first I regretted buying it due to its limited ammo capacity, but if I work on improving that it's going to be a monster.

Ultra-light materials on the SMG plus using the Avenger or the Vindicator. I also have max weight for my upgrades, not sure if that has a significant effect cause I remember it being pretty low even without that (like 178% or something).

The Phaeston and the GPR are my favorites. The Prothean Beam is pretty cool but it seems kind of weak to me. The Saber is supposed to be really, really good too.

BroShep is awesome, anyway my favorite assaults rifle is the Mattock. Single fire, high power, very accurate, it was the gun I used almost the entire game. Only drawback.is the small amount of ammo you can carry for it.

I used the mattock in 2, but shifted to the prothean beam for 3. With this came a shift in my power usage - whereas I used adrenaline rush all the time in 2, in 3 I've been mostly concussive shot. As soldier, obviously.

And Concussive Shot is so much better in ME3. Spamming it works so well in multi.

BroShep soldier through all three games, and I definitely didn't use adrenaline rush as much this game, I used concussive shot mostly, also this is one of the few games where I've run out of grenades, I use them all the time.

Heads up

Any player who is part of a squad that beats the Reaper faction on Silver difficulty or better will unlock one Commendation Pack. This means that at least one member of the squad must be extracted at the end of the mission—this will earn all squad members the reward. Each player can earn a maximum of one pack and each pack contains a random N7 Arsenal Weapon. Originally only available as single-player weapons via the N7 Collector’s Edition, these multiplayer variants will be exceptionally rare and are NOT obtainable through regular purchasable Reinforcement Packs. The Commendation Packs will contain one of the following guns at random: (1) N7 Crusader Shotgun, (2) N7 Eagle Pistol, (3) N7 Hurricane SMG and (4) N7 Valiant Sniper Rifle. Destroy as many brutes as possible—if the multiplayer community kills a combined 1 MILLION brutes within the hours of the challenge, ALL players will receive a Victory Pack as a reward.

PC and XBox 360 only. Event ends monday at 5AM PST

Mark Meer isn't a bad voice actor. Sometimes his delivery is a little flat, particularly on short questions, but considering there's like a billion spoken lines I'm not going to hold the occasional turd against him. Those monotone fortune cookie pickup lines during romance scenes do make me throw up a little but that's not all on him.

I'm quite surprised, but happy, that most people prefer broShep. He's definitely better than femShep. Yeah, Hale is a great voice actress, but not as Shepard. She's just really really boring and flat as Shepard, to me at least. of course I have said this before, but male Shep is just wayyyyy better. He actually sounds like a soldier. And since I mostly play Renegade, he pulls that off a s*** ton better than Hale.

I like both male and female Shepard equally, I'd say.

Meer gets too much hate. The dude's pretty good and he's improved with each new game.

I will say he nails the snarky lines way, way better than Hale does.

See, I have to disagree. When I first started the Mass Effect series--I started with Mass Effect 2--I picked a BroShep and watched through the comic and beginning scenes, and it sort of fell flat for me. Then, I retried it as a FemShep, and I loved it. The same thing happened with my girl, too. She used BroShep through Freedom's Progress, and she hated how he sounded. She decided to try a FemShep, and she was immediately more interested in the game.

I've since made only FemSheps. I'd be down to try a BroShep in ME3 at some point... but, ultimately, it's just not the same for me. Jennifer Hale does such a good job. I love the tone of FemShep, the sophistication. It's not so much the voice acting being flat as it is just not having the same emotional impact in the context of the games. Every interaction, outside of romance, seems better to me with FemShep. Sure, there are exceptions, but eh.

Opposite for me. Jeniffer Hale is a great voice actress but she's just so boring as Shepard. Male Shep is awesome. He's just more convincing as an actual soldier. FemShep doesn't sound like a soldier. She sounds bored all the time. I really just can't stand her for some reason.
