I read the dumbest article in my school paper today. It talked about how dumb it was that there are automatic bids. Saying that Washington should have made the tournament (despite suckin toward the end) but since Oregon State beat them once in the tourney and not either of the two times during the season, their season is over. Funny that the best team rarely wins the whole tournament anyway...

The conference gets to choose how to distribute their automatic bid anyway. If the Pac-12 wanted to give their bid to their regular season Champion and not do a tournament (like the Ivy League), they are free to.

I mean yeah Iona's lead maxed out a bit larger, 25 vs. 16 for the Delta Devils, but Iona started collapsing earlier; their largest lead of the second half was 18 points and that was with close to 15 minutes left. MVSU led 53-37 with 5 minutes left in the game and then allowed the Hilltoppers to outscore them 15-0 over the following three minutes to cut the lead to 1 and ended up losing 59-58.
