Played through the first four cases, absolutely loved them. But this fifth case (Which apparently wasn't part of the original release) isn't really interesting me in these beginning stages, and I kind of want to just move onto the next game.

Will I be missing anything important/interesting if I skip it?

No, Anything in that game isn't even referenced until Ace Attorney 4, since that case came out after all the other games.

But you will be missing out on one of the most badass villains.

It gets pretty neat by the later days. You have to mine a security video for evidence on the second day which is pretty different and neat.

It gets a bit long-winded by the end but it's still fairly good. I think but you might as well just get it done.

I've only played the first two games in the series, but 1-5's quality once it actually gets going and you get a new gameplay-mechanic I've not seen used since then.

1-5 does start slow, but it reaches the top 5 in the whole series after it gets going.

I don't understand people who don't like this case. But yeah, it's not exactly necessary in the grand scheme of PW 1-3, so it is skippable. It's so good though.

1-5 isn't really anything special until the 2nd trial day, but then it gets really good. Never top tier good, but really good.

The first couple investigation days and the first trial day are brutal though.

I'm always baffled by the love B8 has for this case. I know several people who got to this case and just dropped it, because its pacing is so bad. I think the actual murder mystery writing and the villain's plan are the height of nonsense, too.

You can play it or skip it as you choose, as others have said.

I don't think Ema was awful in AJ, infact if she wasn't in 1-5 I'd probably like her.

But she was in 1-5 so the quality drop is unfortunately quite noticeable.

I love 1-5 so much, if it were sold on its own it would be my favourite game in the entire series. The characters, music, plot, dialogue, and structure are all really good... but the gameplay was absolutely top-notch, one of the most fun experiences I've ever had. The first time I played the case, I ended up finishing at 3:00 am after playing for 10 hours straight - with absolutely no regrets whatsoever. Also, Ema's best appearance was totally in AAI >.>
