Top-tier episode right here. Great moral, solid lineup of jokes, self-referencing, compelling plot, training montage... just an A effort.

Very good episode. Spitfire making another appearance was great, but I was afraid she wasn't gonna be voiced until she finally said something at the end there. Also, I'm really liking some of the new pegasus designs they had.

Yes, the pegasus ponies had awesome designs with the exception of Roid Rage or whatever they're calling him, but he was intentionally bad. I especially liked the new male pegasus, Thunder... was it Mane or Lane? I thought I heard "Lane" but my hearing has been pretty questionable lately and Mane would make more sense.

Spike and Rumble were adorable. :3

I also liked the pony with the Orion cutie mark, but I don't think he was ever addressed by name. I remember another large pony with a white coat back in The Best Night Ever having that cutie mark and the fans dubbing him Orion.

I want to call this new guy Rigel.

Great episode, but Spitfire's appearance was totally pointless considering that they just needed a little bit more wingpower.

"Hay guys, we just need 3 more wingpower! Let's have the Wonderbolt stand by and send Fluttershy who may or may not be capable of providing us the extra power we need."

I imagine Spitfire would have joined in if they couldn't do it, but having a Wonderbolt in the group kinda defeats the purpose of having a competition to determine the most wingpower by town.

Yeah, but she should have joined the second time, because they had already ruled out any chance of competing with the other towns and just needed an extra boost.

It's still a great episode, but the logic flaw is jarring.

Everyone who had signed up in advance had already been practicing in a specific part of the formation. Having someone jump in without any kind of rehearsal, even a flier as good as Spitfire, would've likely had the same result as the first go-around.

That episode was way, way better than it had any right to be! We've really been lacking in named pegasi, so my inner geek was in absolute rapture at seeing all of the new designs.

I really, really wish I had some room to move Fluttershy up my pony rankings... unfortunately, even though her focus episodes have been incredible, she quickly fades into the background when the weekly spotlight's not on her. Huh, that's kinda ironic given her personality, isn't it?

Also, I think I definitely preferred it when Hasbro was releasing a single pre-episode preview every few weeks. They've lost that special excitement factor now that we're getting multiple previews for every episode! Before anyone asks, yes I have started skipping some of them.

I skip all of them. I haven't seen a single preview all season long.

Ep watched. What's with the sudden increase in the mule population? XD Treeshy. Good ol' propaganda/informative reels. Whoa the barbell pony. Ahh, good ol' look in either direction face. It WAS her! Ahh, childhood trauma. Training montage! 2.3 what? Thyphoid Thunder. Spitfire just watching.

Not as good as the other Fluttershy ep, that one was gold.

There's no denying that they all play out similarly, but it has be said that bravery, assertiveness, and confidence are definitely not the same thing, and there are clear distinctions between the lessons that Fluttershy learns in each of her episodes.

I do hope that the writers can find a different aspect of her personality to build upon next season, though.

It looks like I'm not as crazy about this episode as everyone else is. It had some great parts but it just didn't have that top tier feel for me. =/

Fluttershy tree and training montage were great.

And Angel looked so cute this ep. =o

Yeah this was more of an inferiority complex issue. Everyone can relate to being 5.0 when everyone else is 10.0, and not wanting to participate because of that. But sometimes all you need is the 5.0, so I thought it was a good and unique message.

I don't really think Fluttershy is a one-note character at all, and this wasn't really an episode about overcoming her shyness or anything like that. It was more about fear of judgment, which is an issue everyone except maybe Applejack and Pinkie have gone through at some point. That particular issue was just filtered through Fluttershy's character this time.

I thought this episode was cute, and I normally don't like episodes that are merely "cute" and not just really funny but this one really worked for me. I don't know why. I was just really sold on the episode's premise.

I have been annoyed with Fluttershy's plots all being overcoming fears, but I actually thought this episode was by far and away the best of her episodes.

Applejack kind of touched on it in The Last Roundup, but yeah I don't see how that was anything close to the same plot.

^Pinkie too, in the opening S2 episode. Bubbly extroverts like PP tend to be overcompensating from fears of judgment, and I'm actually pretty surprised they haven't done an episode about that yet (Party of One is close, but not quite what I'm talking about).

That was one of the more surprisingly good episodes of the season. That AJ/Big Mac gag was brilliant.

Great episode. CMC have been pretty quality recently, wonder how long they can keep it up.

Surprisingly tolerable for a CMC ep. Not great or anything imo, but still pretty good. AJ/Big Mac swap was the greatest thing.
