Ally Shy completely screws us over. First of all she built lifesteal/damage only until 30+ minutes. 0 HP at all. She also gave away the first baron by going bottom randomly when it was time to fight for it.




I'm just completely at a loss sometimes. This is one of those times.

It's been 160 ranked games since our ELO has been this low. It's just (another) disgusting night of disgustingly bad players.

I honestly think this Lux buff is going to be pretty huge in the grand scheme of things.

You can zone people so much easier now and she will start to "hardcounter" a lot of champs that can't safely farm from range.

Some excellent games supporting Spike's Kog'Maw. Trist is one tough cookie, especially an expert one paired with an expert Soraka. Last game got quite frustrating, but it was still fun.

and it's true...technically. But she's like old Eve in the sense that you have to spend ungodly amounts of gold on wards simply to prevent her from stealing your jungle, let alone ganking.

I hate feeling like I'm starting to tilt. It is not a fun feeling.

Especially because I play just as well the next game, and the next game and the next game so I know that despite the anguish I'm bringing my A (or at least my B+ game) to bear.

It just depresses me to play so well and lose.


Sometimes I think bad allies just get overconfident. I think that they dont realize how much work is being put into these early kills. They are well designed and executed and sometimes they are very near things. Kills that almost did not happen otherwise. But the bad allies see the kills and think "oh good, we're winning our opponents must be bad". And then that is in their head. An assumption that has no business being there, but it is there just the same. And so the game progresses. I stay on top of buffs, I stay on top of dragons, I make sure our economic advantage is as tight as we can keep it into the mid game. And they think to themselves "yup, there is no way we can possibly lose this game". And so with that shortsighted attitude in their tiny brains they approach the rest of the game casually. Being in exactly the right positioning isn't a big enough deal to be worth the extra effort. Small mistakes get made. Small mistakes spiral into medium sized losses, which progress into a very fast evening of the tides.

BECAUSE GUESS WHAT OUR OPPONENTS ARE NOT TERRIBLE. AS IT TURNS OUT WE WERE ACTUALLY BUSTING OUR ASSES TO DO WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO TO GET THOSE EARLY ADVANTAGES. AND YOU IN ALL YOUR INFINITE WISDOM FOUND A WAY TO SQUANDER THE FRUITS OF OUR LABOR. I SALUTE YOUR ABILITY TO CAPITALIZE ON EVERY OPPORTUNITY NEEDED TO THROW AWAY THE GAME WE SPENT 20 MINUTES BUILDING IN OUR FAVOR.

Well uhh, to be fair you guys made some mistakes in that last game too-- and the only reason I bring this up is that I'd argue you guys made the mistakes that blew the lead, even. I know everyone likes to blame the pubs but there was a fight mid where red felt it was more prudent to farm bottom than back you guys up which left Graves cleaning you guys up and red doing nothing, which led to them getting Baron for free because they killed everyone but red and only lost like one guy. I'm not sure if he thought you guys were going to run away and then you didn't or what, but yeah-- no pings or anything in chat saying as much. Then of course the one there was that attempt at a 3 man Baron (with you and red being two of the three) which went dreadfully awry, led to them getting another free Baron. That one was obviously less important because they were already running away with it, and you may have just been doing it as a last ditch sorta thing, but it was still bad.

I notice you guys don't communicate much with your pubs in chat (aside from bickering with them and advice after the mistake which comes off as more condescending than helpful generally regardless of whether it's helpful or not-- hey, I bet that's the feeling you're getting right now!) which might be part of the issue with your recent losses. I dunno. That's why I don't really endorse vent for games with pubs because you might tend to leave them out of strategies and not even realize you're doing it.

I mean unlike many times when I bluntly point things out I'm not trying to piss you guys off or anything. I just think that sometimes observers might see things you're doing wrong that you don't?

And if you want my best shot at constructive advice out of the 10 games or so I'd watched in the last few days (I'm not a regular watcher so this advice might not apply in general-- but I've seen it as a recurring theme recently at least) I guess the biggest things I would point out as flaws with your play are:

FD tends to initiate whenever he finds the enemy out of position-- unfortunately many times that means his team is out of position too. Also FD might roam too much while jungling because he's usually been significantly behind the side lanes on levels when jungling. Not to say he doesn't get some good ganks from time to time but I'm not sure the ganking always pays for having a guy that far behind.

Red tends to ignore things on the map midgame to farm or whatever sometimes-- that wasn't the first game I'd noticed it. This might be an issue of seeing it and not telling the pubs to back off or it might just be not paying attention to the map quite enough (admittedly it's easier to look at the map when you're not actually playing!).

To me that seems a common bond of not paying attention to the pubs enough, so yeah, just uh, think about it, I guess. I realize I'm not 1700 ELO but you don't need to be Caesar to understand Caesar or however the old saying goes.

eh? I'm usually on level with bot, and with some of the losses I was well ahead of bottom and/or enemy jungler.

Especially in our last game of the night:

I made kills happen in all lanes that game. I stayed on level with enemy WW and was much more of a presence than him in teamfights. I participated in 16 out of our 21 team kills. Enemies out levelled me at the end but by that point they had a ton of kills/barons/etc.

For the most part I know when I can or can not counter jungle. When possible I stay on top of enemy buffs.

In the amumu game vs Shaco I ransacked his jungle a few times when it was possible. I was very overlevelled compared to bot/enemy jungle during that game. Still lost.




I'll consider it though and maybe, but some consideration into XP mastery if it seems like an issue, but for the most part it doesn't feel like it is.

See, people keep saying this, but she doesn't have to have a stun to chunk your health, she just needs to give you a love tap. And if your lane has CC (And in this meta, it most likely will) then Shyvana gets more shots in. Not to mention she has what more or less amounts to Ghost and Flash built into her kit. No CC is a balance.

I feel like she's way too big of a presence all the time. She can counter jungle almost immediately and at lightning speed. In the mid/late game she becomes an unkillable monster with some pretty f***ing good damage output.

Her weaknesses are mitigated by the fact that she can screw the enemy jungler over by robbing them of resources, whether or not they decide to mount some defenses. (And even then, Shyv buys Oracle's earlier than any other champion since she can destroy them in under a second with Q up) Her downsides amount to nothing once the laning phase is over, and after that she just becomes someone you never want to approach.

I don't know, I just feel like she's way too powerful, but I don't see how you could make her worse without making her straight bad. But something needs to be done, in my opinion. Says a lot that M5 could carry themselves into their (M)5 minutes of fame solely off the back of Shyvana.

sometimes I even wonder why I still play with a friend of mine, I mean it's fun when he's not lagging/disconnecting

but we just lost a game again because he disconnected midgame. Literally had a 30-10 lead and still lost lategame with 47-30 because 4v5 is basically impossible

With regard to "communicating with pubs":

I think part of the problem is the fact that you can't effectively warn your allies against making every single mistake they might make before they make it. We would have to stop what we are doing to type a longish sentence to explain some facet of the game that they should already know. (Keep in mind we were 1850 ELO a few days ago). And when you type a long sentence telling someone to avoid doing something that might result in us losing chances are they are just going to get pissed off at you for assuming they are bad and telling them how to play.


I will say that sometimes some of us (*cough*) will be too harsh when rehashing the mistakes made by our allies, but it is not feasible to say these things in advance.


I shouldn't have to say "by the way trist, don't jump into their entire team in any teamfights this game". Or "Poppy, don't go crazy to try and 'snipe' their Yorick with their entire team nearby. Or "Ashe, please don't intentionally feed this game".

Yeah. I would advise at least using the fall back ping more often, though. Or normal pings to signify stuff like "hey Graves is coming down the river to flank you all and ace you." Or at the very least, pulling out if you see things are about to go bad instead of dying with your team-- might cause them to just pull out because their backup is leaving. Of course as the tank you're usually the one that starts the fight and pings can work there too... like, triple ping when you see a weakness that you're going to dive-- at least then even if your allies are out of position they'll get a slight headstart on it.

I'm not sayin you can account for everything obviously but yeah I'm just saying many of the problems I saw could've possibly been averted with pings-- not to say you guys never ping or anything but when a lot of things don't get pinged and some of the things that need to be pinged are presumably being pinged by your allies it might be a problem when so many of the issues seem to be lack of coordination or not everyone being at a fight or whatever.

That's just what I perceived, anyway. And yeah if you're not using exp mastery I'd highly recommend at least thinking about it.
