Hey, it just hit me

They cut a Funkasaurus squash from the Smackdown broadcast, and now they kept him off Raw for the first time.

This does not look promising.

In non-WWE news, Against All Odds is shaping up to be a high-quality show on paper.

Roode (c) vs. Hardy vs. Storm vs. Bully Ray
Aries (c) vs. Shelley
Crimson/Morgan (c) vs. Joe/Magnus
Kim (c) vs. Tara
Styles vs. Kazarian
Ion vs. Sorensen

With still one more Impact left to add another match or two.

Against All Odds only has to deliver on TWO of these three matches and it'll be the card of the year so far.

I think Garrett Bischoff vs. Gunner is the most likely result of that nonsense, with Hogan and Eric in their respective corners.

The idea of Hulk Hogan training someone to wrestle is kinda amusing though. If Garrett tries to wrestle the match with a totally Hulk Hogan style, that's gonna be pretty funny, actually.

Also it will be funny if he busts out like a moonsault or something and Tenay is like "Hulk Hogan taught him that one! Wow!"

Oh god the thought of Garrett Bischoff Hulking up is enough for me to go from stealing this to purchasing this.

The latter would be funny, but also further erode my respect for Tenay because thats some 2001 Tony Schiavone crap right there.

Yeah I don't know why I didn't care for Jericho's promo. I guess his "new" gimmick felt like a letdown. And then I never really care for responses like CM Punk's. The only think I liked about CM Punk's response is it's kind of a throwback to Jericho's mime stuff he was dong 2 weeks ago.

It's not "kind of" a throwback. Jericho was accusing Punk of copying him, so Punk actually copied him in a way that was totally relevant, and in a way that got right under Jericho's troll-skin. Basically turned all of Jericho's trolling back at him.

I just liked it because Jericho was saying that he was the Best in the World, and that CM Punk wasn't, so all Punk had to do to prove him wrong was hold up the title. Punk cares about making the title meaningful, and it being representative of being the Best in the World, so it worked for me.

And that's why Jericho's mocking response at the end of the night worked too, because that was his way of saying "If this title means that you are the Best in the World, then it belongs to me already."

I can identify with Lopen about being underwhelmed by Jericho. We sort of thought everything would be building toward something different and then WHOMP he is the same exact character he was before he left. Not that this is a bad thing, and Chris Jericho/CM Punk both in the ring and on the mic will be a good feud, there's literally no way for it not to be. I guess I just thought there'd be some other angle they'd go with for Jericho's character.

Does anyone know where it's possible to buy WWE shirts that don't have the stupid WWE logo on the bottom of them. Like, I will buy WWE shirts that don't make it obnoxiously obvious that they're WWE shirts, and the stupid little logo all but ruins that. Thinking about getting the new Punk shirt just because I need something to wear to the Wrestlemania party.

Yeah Jericho being the exact same character he was before he left isn't a bad thing but I just think that all his silent segments weren't really worth it in the end. The net result of what he got out of all of that was a few slightly amusing/mostly obnoxious segments and one line where he said he trolled the fans. Like I don't think the silent treatment helped him turn heel or anything-- him hitting Punk with a codebreaker and then cutting tonight's promo was probably all the legwork there.

Same character, different gimmick. Or at least a character so similar that it may as well be the same character.

The one thing I like about it is that he's mixed in some of the best parts of his original Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla gimmick into it so that it's a nice middle ground. Overall, I think this is my favorite character he's played. But it's almost identical to the character he was playing before he left.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's definitely a better way of being a heel than what he was doing. I'm just saying, what he did now wasn't fully effective, either. Though if anything, the trolling might be partially at fault. I think people are finding it hard to boo him when he came back with every indication that he was back to being a face. Really the only thing he could do now is interfere in a Randy Orton match and make him lose.

Nah, he was getting booed shortly before he called Michael Cole an idiot and got punted off the air.

I'm really convinced if he came back in a suit with a scowl on his face, not doing his back turned, arms open classic entrance, and never pandering to the crowd, he'd be getting booed by now.

I mean, they wanted to be cryptic for the sake of people being surprised it was Jericho (hint: they weren't) but the whole thing could have been sped up big time.

Of course not, but he did do something pretty significant: bring in the nWo. Granted, it flopped because Nash couldn't stay healthy, Hall couldn't stay sober, and Hogan couldn't stay heel, but at least that's an example of something that's game changing.

"End of the world" usually implies something larger than calling everyone wannabes.

The "wannabe" part if irrelevant to the "end of the world".

People are getting too hung up on "end of the world" and not "as you know it". In Jericho's eyes we are living in a delusional, second-rate world of people who copy Jericho and where this thief, this charlatan, CM Punk, is claiming to be the best in the world when no, in fact it is Jericho who is the best in the world. At everything he does.

Jericho has come to end this fantasy world and reclaim what is his, the title of "best in the world". Which is also the WWE title, because that's what the current "best in the world" currently holds.

I haven't really seen a gimmick like Jericho's before, this "progenitor" gimmick. It's game-changing in that it's somebody actively attacking what Punk's character has been about ever since he became this megastar. How his claim to be the "best in the world" is actually a bit short-sighted, given that he's never wrestled the original "best in the world".

It's a completely different take on dealing with this incarnation of CM Punk and I love it.
