I think it's hilarious that nintendo's strategy of targeting casuals and not making real games is backfiring on them because those people are literally too stupid to tell their products apart, gj catering to the right audience nintendo!

on the other hand it means they were completely right in how they butched skyward sword with the entire game being a tutorial and all, for their intended demographic it was completely necessary and this probably means that series is never going to be great again...

Good decision. Everyone thought the 3DS was an updated DS with a 3D screen that wasn't worth $250, and everyone was going to think this was an updated Wii with a tablet controller that wouldn't be worth $300. Nice to see them learning from their mistakes!

People still argue today whether GBC counts as another platform or not and is more ambiguous, what with the semi-exclusive games.

Game Boy Advance should be the real example, though a radical redesign probably helped.
