I barely remember the Cid's from II and III, so I'm just gonna skip them.

Bearded Cid(FFIV) 8/10

Definitely one of my favorite Cids. The first playable Cid, and one of my favorite character designs. I don't know, for some reason I feel like he's a major reason why FFIV works as well as it does. He somehow fills two roles: comic relief and "average guy" and he does both extremely well. Awesome sacrifices too. I have a soft spot for engineers too. Cid, Mustadio and Edgar are all some of my favorites.

Cid (FFV) 5/10

Cid was a scientist in this one. I remember him having some funny scenes and a humorous rapport with his assistant. Other than that, kind of forgettable.

Yellow Cid (FFVI) 6/10

Cid is again a scientist, this time a researcher at the Magitek laboratory. The game doesn't really let us know too much about this guy. He helps the party escape from the laboratory, but it's never really clear whether or not he was actually good or just playing along in some Imperial scheme. In the World of Ruin, he and Celes have that totally messed up Granddad relationship. I always let him die because it makes Celes a really interesting character that way.

Cid Highwind(FFVII) 10/10

Simply the best. 'Nuff said.

Headmaster Cid (FFVIII) 2/10

I hate looking at you, Headmaster Cid. Why. Why do you look so much like Robin Williams? Why are you so weird? Quite frankly one of the worst character designs ever.

Regent Cid (FFIX) 8/10

This guy is basically a mixture of Cid (FFIV) and Edgar (FFVI) so of course he's awesome.

Cid (FFX) 6/10

Eww.The Al Bhed airship captain and Rikku's dad (right?). Eh, I have no real strong feelings about him. Kind of blah design, but it suits the character.

Dr. Cid (FFXII) 8/10

Cid was a villain here and one of the high points of FFXII for sure. Okay, yes, he was THE high point.

The other Cid (FFXII) 1/10

I've completely forgotten what this guy's deal was. He was like the king of some other country, I think? I thought he was going to be important but he wasn't.

Cid Raines(FFXIII) 5/10

This was a cool boss fight. His character could've been so much more though. Pretty much the situation with every FFXIII villain - so much promise and such poor execution.

Nominate: Noel Kreiss (Final Fantasy XIII-2). We'll see how the newcomer fares after his game comes out next week.

As for Cids... here we go.

FF2: 5/10. Purely average by FF2 standards, but is noteworthy for being the first Cid.
FF3: 3/10. Almost completely forgetable.
FF4: 6/10. Has his moments, but is honestly outshined by... basically the rest of the FF4 playable cast except for the like 2 people older than him.
FF5: 5.5/10. Only slightly above average.
FF6: 2/10. Worst Cid period.
FF7: 8.8/10. HIGHWIND **** YEAH.
FF8: 4.7/10. Kinda meh, especially for a Cid.
FF9: 6.9/10. Some of his moments with Zidane are just hilarious.
FFX: 7/10. Pretty cool overall, and having the guts to give the order to nuke Home.
FF13: 7/10. Was actually really freaking awesome as a character, but MAN was the fight hard.
Dissidia: 4/10. Somewhat of a jerk when you think about it. Can't really go into detail without spoilers.

Cid Highwind - 7/10 Man do I hate what they did to this guy in KH2. I've tried so hard to scrub the memory from my brain but I just can't let it go. But within the context of FFVII, he's cool.

Regent Cid - 7.5 He's okay by me I guess. He's got some nice moments with Zidane if nothing else.

Uncle Cid - 4.5/10 Yeeeehaw, here we go! He seems like he would be cool, but he gets like, zero focus in-game. He has the one scene at Home which isn't so great (to me at least), and then a bunch of throwaway lines. X-2 doesn't help him at all either.

Dr. Cid - 10/10 Best non-playable Cid. Hands down. Not even close. He's delightfully insane, and the highlight of FFXII. Probably my favorite Cid.
Al-Cid - 6/10 His entourage is actually several degrees cooler than him. He's okay though.

I'm just going to rate my favorite Cid. Cidolfus Orlandeau, also known as the Thunder God Cid. Not only is he a powerhouse in the game but I really enjoyed his character and what he stood for in the story. 10/10
