second most dissapointing easy boss after an insane final boss fight first goes to Sephiroth after you beat Safer Sephiroth
That's not a real boss fight! This is even worse than people who consider Yu Yevon the last boss of FFX!

When you can't run from an enemy and they pull off nothing but special.... Okay you're right that battle with Sephiroth isn't a boss since you always instant kill him unless you're stupid and use a cheat via Gameshark to cause you to be someone else in the battle but Shuyin is a boss because he can kill you if you don't pay attention to the battle.

Exactly. Those cards are tough to get and the rules are just wacky which caused me to hate the tournament in the game just to progress but I beat everyone ther through sheer luck and cards that I had no clue on where I got them.

Shuyin is a boss, yes.

But that always felt more like a fanservice fight than anything else because he uses all of Tidus's moves and stuff.

Back from my winter vacation for a few days, and finally got back to playing FFT last night.

Left off at Lionel Castle, so I got to do that. Took a couple tries (only Gafgarion left, but my monk ninja crystallized), but got it done. Had my ninja go right in front of the summoner and punch him twice (martial arts ability) which took him to critical health. Then brought my summoner in black mage garb, and Ramuh'd their asses (he has a thunder rod, so the damage is kicked up).

Then inside Lionel, to do battle with Draclau who turns into Queklain. Basically, it's do as much damage to him as you can, as quickly as you can. His nightmare attack is super annoying, but it never confused any of my characters at least.

Now to start chapter 3, on the way to see Zalbag at uhhh, Lesalia? Or was it Zeltennia. I don't know. Goland Coal City first.

Good call.

Got to the Coal city and had to save Olan from thieves and such. Goddamn chick thieves and steal heart UGGGHHHH!! Then the second time, I was down to one thief left, and she killed Olan on the turn before I would kill her. Massacred them on the third try. Embarrassing that it took that long to kill them, but meh.

Me and Olan went our separate ways. Got to Lesalia, Zalbag called Ramza a traitor or something and defended Dycedarg. We meet up with Alma, and get attacked by Zalmo, some heresy dude. This fight is amusing, because it's not that hard at all. Dennis, my summoning wizard, and his thunder rod aided Ramuh rampaged. Having magic attack up as an ability likely helped. Indy the ninja now has ninja swords and ****ed up the monks. Alma cast Mbarrier on Ramza and he took down two of the knights. Easy battle.

Now to Orbonne to get the holy stone that's supposedly there.

I read something that almost convinced me Yu Yevon is worthy of final boss status.

Basically the idea is it was supposed to be a "puzzle" battle, because essentially he heals himself for more damage then you're capable of doing.
As you don't have Aeons at this point, and most games likely won't have any Break Damage abilities, 9999 damage is about as much as you're capable of, and he auto heals for 9999.

Obviously it's very easy to circumvent this with any move that deals more than one hit, mainly overdrives, Reflect and Zombie status.

Just did the Orbonne Monastary battles. First one was annoying because of the 3 lancers, but Dennis Ramuhed their asses. Was a little lengthy but not too bad.

I believe the next battle was the Izlude fight. Killed the summoner on the first turn when Indy double cut him. Izlude was being a ***** and jumping on people rather than fighting me face to face, so I went around the map killing everyone else. Chipped away at his healthy and finally won.

Heading back up, the fight against Wiegraf was dirt easy. He rushed in and hit 3 of my characters with stasis sword, but no one got paralyzed. Indy double cut him, Ramza took a swing, Yeager (now a lancer) stabbed him with a spear, and Agrias hit him with a lightning stab. Dennis didn't even get a turn...

Now heading to Riovanes to attempt to get Alma back, and deal with Wiegraf/Velius. Just won the Grog Hill battle, that was quite easy. Next, Yardow Fort City. I think this is where Malak and Rafa are introduced to battles. **** you Rafa, you better not be a dumb ***** and get killed all the time again...

Ah, yes, "puzzle boss" final battles that can also be won through normal methods. Baten Kaitos had one of them as well; actually had less HP than the previous two bosses but you fought it with a smaller party.

Of course, this also confounds our earlier discussion about when the "ending" starts because said boss shows up about halfway through the credits or something.

Yu Yevon was simple to beat since I killed him before he got his turn and I didn't even use quick hit, Tidus had 155 Agi, Auron's 125, and Lulu's was 135 (at least I think these were there stats not sure), and it went down without a hitch after being hit by Blitz Ace, Brandishing Blade, and seven casts of Thundaga from Lulu special.

Overkill, especially since there is no way to lose at all thanks to being under constant autolife for the duration of the battle. And that is Banishing Blade.....I have to ask why Thundaga, better yet why use Lulu at all.

Baten Kaitos spoilers

I don't consider Geldoblame the final boss in that game either. Unlike other pseudo-final bosses though, that fight is not only stupid easy, but also completely pointless. Basically, BK's final boss is Malpercio, FFX's final boss is BFA, FFVII's final boss is Safer Sephiroth.

Well, Mass Effect obviously gives you two ways to play the game: Paragon (Good) and Renegade (Evil).

Renegade Shepard is oftentimes hilarious with a lot of his dialogue ("Because it's a big, stupid jellyfish!"), but I don't really like a lot of the long-term repercussions and consequences of being Renegade. For example, I finished up a Renegade run the other day and successfully managed to alienate nearly every possible romantic interest on my crew. That wasn't fun. As Paragon Shepard, you can accrue a sizable harem (well, sort of). Pure Renegade Shepard kills off a lot of interesting dialogue trees, but I suppose you could do a mixture of both to keep those dialogue trees open, which is what I'm doing on this playthrough. I'm choosing the neutral options most of the time.

Evil all the way. I can "have the heart" for either, though... but if you give me a choice, yeah I'm going for the less moral option most of the time-- but just picking the evil one all the time is bad too, even if you want your character to be a villain. I like immersing myself in a character more than anything so sometimes the evil choice just isn't interesting to my character's interests or crosses a line my character actually respects or the evil guys pissed my character off enough that I want to screw them rather than teaming up with them, or whatever.

When I played ME (haven't gotten to ME2 yet) I answered with a bit of a mix but leaned renegade. Though I wouldn't say renegade is exactly evil so to speak... it's more like a lack of respect for rules than being a bad person. There's only one thing from ME I can think of that I'd call possibly "evil" but even that I'd say has justification.

Well maybe it's more patently evil in ME2 I suppose.

I don't remember killing any people that weren't going to be killed regardless. Most of the situations where you can talk a guy down you can do it through Renegade path too, just through intimidation/insults rather than diplomacy, so it's not like he'll usually shoot a guy that you could've otherwise not shot very often at all (and I don't ever recall him shooting someone that could be considered an innocent bystander). Most of the time if you pick the fight option when you can try and talk it out it's neutral not Renegade.

I don't know maybe I'm forgetting stuff. All I'm saying is I never really felt "evil" as Shepard just like a guy who was doing his job, had a bad attitude, and didn't take ****.
