- Vote from 0-10, use 5 as an average, decimals are okay. - Don't be lame and use alts or anything like that. - Only vote if you've played enough of the respective game to have a good feel for the character. This if of course subjective for the character so you'll have to use your own judgment. But if you played fifteen minutes of the game once, you probably don't know the character well enough. - Nominations are closed until further notice.
Sorry for the delay, I went to bed early and this slipped my mind.

Zidane is everything you'd want in a FF protagonist: determined, heroic, brave, humorous, confident. He's got a developed backstory that ties in with the main plot and a well written romance. It's a shame then, that I find his character design so repulsive. It's not even the tail. It's the hair, the big hands, and okay, yes, the tail.

I think someone is being way, way too sensitive. Do we have to stop saying "You got owned" in order to not offend black people due to slavery? - wg64Z
I'd anti-vote him if I had less INTEGRITY cause I just don't get the love (typical for anything FFIX related except Vivi and to a lesser extent Kuja, generally). Sure he's not all doom and gloom like Squall and Cloud which is a nice change for the 3D games I guess but whenever he goes out of the cheery optimist mode (the YNA scene is the thing that comes to mind) he comes off as a dumbass rather than having depth or whatever. Tidus just does the upbeat main thing a lot better.
I don't know maybe I should replay Final Fantasy IX.

From: Some_Character | #027 CH&C is the opposite of bad.
See there are some things like Zidane that I accept I might change my opinion on with a replay, but on the other hand I have to realize that this is the same board that likes things like Banjo Kazooie, so some things they say about FF9 might just be wrong.

The guy who bases the truthfulness of one statement by looking at the opinion from completely different people on a completely different subject says that he's not convinced. Colour me surprised.

Well to be fair they're not completely unrelated. CH&C shares some of the attributes that a bad collectathon like BK has.
Not that I'm particularly interested in this "nuh uh" line of discussion anyway, but I just figured I'd explain why I made the comparison-- it wasn't a completely random jab at Banjo Kazooie! (Not that I'm above such things)

9.2/10. Fairly well likable, and his trance is fun as hell to use, too. And Dissidia... oh boy, Zidane in Dissidia. .8 lost because said trance has a nasty habit of triggering right when the last enemy is already going to die, thus wasting it.

A staple formula for FF villains: "They only do this, but lets kill them anyway!!!"
Pretty great all around, until a certain late-game revelation.
Second tier protagonist.
This.
He had nothing but a bunch of last second rushed "character development" (If you can call it that...) by the end of the third disk. It made Squall and his late/post 2nd disk U-turn look decent...
I'm also agreeing with and saying 7/10. He was great and hysterical with his somewhat lewd behavior up until then.
