Oh man, my first run through the new Special Cup, 150 cc, I go into Rainbow Road and need to finish ahead of Mario and not have Yoshi beat me by 2 places to get 1st in the cup. Naturally, the first 2 sections are spent recovering from several falls since I'm playing as standard Koopa and got f***ed at the beginning by some jerks with monster wheels like Rosalina. Get into first just in time for the 3rd section, but on the spinning pipe I somehow get turned around and end up going the wrong way and find myself in 6th. I get a triple mushroom on my last item box and boost up as fast as I can, and within the last half second of the race, Rosalina nudges in front of Yoshi with her monster wheels to take first and I slam into Mario just in time to steal 3rd, putting me in first place for the cup with 30 points to Yoshi and Mario's 29 each. Awwwwww yeah.

Also you can do battle mode online GMUN; you don't get a choice of the mode though. It's kinda weird; when I first joined it matched me with people then we watched someone else's battle while we waited for "an arena to become available." It apparently goes in sequence though, with the mode.

I ended up doing balloon battle and had to deal with two annoying Japanese guys who were the highest rated of the group (~1200) who got the map they wanted (GBA Battle Course 1) and just camped on top of item spawns the entire time. Wasn't a terribly effective tactic thankfully, since they were vulnerable from the back and didn't get to prey on people terribly effectively. It did seem like they had it down to a science though; if they got a mushroom they'd wait for an idiot to cross their path then mushroom boost straight toward the next corner's item box spawn where they'd resume camping.

I've played so much today, that now that I'm trying to go to sleep, my mind is just playing Mario Kart sound effects and keeping me awake, ie koopa shells going by, the sound effect for doing tricks, Toad saying "Yeah!"

man, the Ghosts I got from today's SpotPass were so bad, I beat the best ghosts by 20 seconds everywhere, and sometimes lapped up to two ghosts

also huh, the GameFAQs Cheats page says you get Egg 1 from 3000 coins... but I already have Egg 1, and I'm at >1200. Also I got the Flower gilder at 1100, not 1200

Beaten the game all modes and gotten all characters. LAck of Vs mode/mission really kills it. Online is great but i wish this game had better SP.

On a random note, is it just me or do other people continually hear what sounds like the faint whoosh of a freshly launched blue shell coming out of the back of the pack when there's no blue shell? >_> I swear, there's something else in this game that makes a similar noise.

Man, I wish I had it so I could play during my 6-8 class. For the first 7 or so weeks of the class I've been falling asleep in class and missing his entire 2 hour rant, last two weeks I've been playing Mario 3D Land in class to stay awake, was expecting Mario Kart to come in today =(

I haven't played too much - only golded 150cc, doing mirrors now. Time Trials are too disappointing. How do I know where I am ranked?! Am I #1 on Daisy Hills, because it won't show any ghosts faster than mine!?
