People selling of the Cobra is a good telling of how comedic they can be. I remember when Ryder got Cobra'd in the legs and he sold it like he was paralyzed from the waist under but could still move his arms. It was an amazing match.

Also, Heath Slater still sells like a champion. If he can learn to cut an even half decent promo and get a more impressive looking finisher he's gonna be huge.

He kind of reminds me of Ziggler circa Spirit Squad.

Slater is pretty good overall. I think he'll be in the WWE for a while. His Look is unique, his selling is one of the best, his in ring personality comes off as an obnoxious dude you just want the other guy to kick the crap out of . If he could be pretty solid if he learns to cut promos yea.

Actually NXT1 (Nexus) was super stacked. Barrett is amazing. Gabriel has a great finisher and a good look, Slater already explained (plus it seems he is an overly safe wrestler to work with since I think he is one of the only people who have gotten to work with Bret Hart post stroke.), Otunga seems to play Gimmicks well and has a decent look, Skip had huge amount of presence and looked like he could take on anyone, Tarver looked the part and when he was paired near Skip looked very impressive, Darren Young... I still can't get behind him at all, Amdrag is Amdrag.

And Striker was talking about the rear chin lock that Heath Slater had on Ted DiBiase, and he stopped midway through and said "Why do you always look at me when I analyze these holds? I'm letting the viewers at home see what these superstars are going through." Then Josh says that the viewers can see what is happening, to which Striker replies "But they don't know what kind of pain they're in and why."

This is something I really liked about Striker. He always made sure to explain the kayfabe reasons the moves work, or why particular variations are more effective, which are often NOT readily apparent.

I remember "learning" a lot of this kind of thing back in the day, but I forget if it was stuff the commentators used to talk about during the Superstars/Wrestling Challenge squash matches, or if I read it in the old WWF Magazine, and once in a while Striker would mention something specific that I remembered. When that happened I always wondered if that meant Striker watched the same squash matches/read the same WWF Magazine articles that I did.

Striker's amazing. He gives you lots of cool tidbits and actually, y'know, calls the match. I'd still take JR over him but I would love to have more Striker and less Cole/King/etc.

Recently, they've been playing up the angle that Cena really is letting how much the crowd hates him get to him (in spite of his golly gee shucks attitude), and how he won't be able to beat Rock if he doesn't own up to it. So who knows where that's going

and rock shouldn't go over cena at WM really. but it'd be a perfect way to start the new year of heel cena, him winning and getting boo'd completely to death.

but we've been saying heel cena for a while. what they're doing now is basically what they were doing in Cena/Punk to the T. i'm thinking they decided to save the scripts and development that was GOING to happen then for the feud with the Rock instead because of just how big it is. that explains why Punk got lost in the shuffle for a couple months - the HHH/Nash angle as both enemies then allies didn't make any sense with Punk and killed his buzz - and now that Punk has the belt again they're satisfying that half of the equation too as he gets some of it back. as for Cena, they're just letting him slow burn what they had planned before.

i wouldn't worry as much compared to Punk. Chicago's Punk's hometown and is wrestling city, Miami isn't. MITB was a Chicago heavy crowd, WM will be a lot more diverse. Punk fans are a lot more rabid and vicious than Rock's fans, and a lot more up to date/relevant when it comes to reaction and knowledge. Rock's fans are 'oh man, the rock!' punk fans are 'best in the world!' punk's are aware of what's gone down with Cena and are more likely to know stuff backstage than Rock's.

like i wouldn't even put it at MSG level at SS necessarily for how bad Cena'll get treated, but he'll def get boo'd. just cheered too during the match.

So I was watching the "Foley's Christmas" Smackdown from earlier in the week, and did anyone else think he probably shouldn't have referred to the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship as "Tiny Tim"? He's having a hard enough time getting over, they really don't need to compare him to a sickly crippled child.

that 3 on 3 woman's match.
wow.

legitimately might be in the top 5 shows i've seen all year. Mio's hot as hell and Tsubasa's finisher had me with my jaw wide open and marking out. that is the sickest finisher i've ever seen and looks oh so badass.

Aja Kong and Toyota weren't the best part of that match - Tsubasa was. repeating that: Aja Kong and Toyota were in a match and neither of them was the best part of it. match of the night without a doubt and one of the best had in the year. we all became fans in that arena at that very moment of every single person in that match. but none got bigger pops than Tsubasa at the end of it. so good. bought her shirt. totally deserves money.


Sara's a lot, lot slimmer now. kinda worried. but if she's trying to go for the WWE model look then... i can understand that. it's just sad to see her go from looking great to kinda thin but still good.

most matches were women, but we did have a couple guys in matches. and ice cream. yes, a tag team called Los Ice Cream was the opener.

for the finisher, picture the way Sheamus does his big finisher - lifts them up over his shoulders. now instead of tossing them on their back, picture it as if he were to instead lift them up a bit further and flip them over his head while still hanging on to them and slamming them down into the mat, facebuster style, as she proceeds to sit down. i'm not sure if she sat down first or if she landed on them. i've never seen it before and have no idea how it's pulled off either.

that is Tsubasa's finisher.
it is amazing. it's like mixing sheamus' finisher with a sit-down pedigree (if that makes sense) and looks utterly PAINFUL but oh so beautiful.
