Just had a quick glance at the predictions and quite a competitive start. A 49+ score isn't even guaranteed to get you a top 15 atm, possibly not even a top 20.

Yeah, I think I might be missing something on my setup that was usually used to trigger the automatic update on the site. or most likely gamefaqs has changed its coding since last time so the script couldn't pull poll results from gamefaqs without an update.

according to Luster, the coding was changed for GameFAQs Mobile implementation

creative's updater was broken at the beginning of the first match, so he might have some idea how to fix it!

Both the Oracle site and creativename's updater site are down right now.


Well, that didn't last long. Both sites were only down for about 15 minutes and the updater still managed to catch the 3 updates during the downtime.

I've never done Oracle before but I got to be close to the top 20 I would think.

I was 1.57 off the Mario percentage. And am spot on with Ike as of now.

I dislike everyone doing so well. I don't think I've ever started off with anything but average to below average picks, but I was off on Mario by 0.36% and I'm off today by 0.99% right now and apparently it's still just average.

Thats still better than average. Average I'd guess is like 1.2% off for mario.

I'm just happy to start better than last year where I ended up mired between 101st and 80th for the first quarter of the contest before fighting back to 21st. I think I was like 20 points adrift after 3-4 matches and 40 points adrift after 10.

Having such a terrible start last year was hard to take.

Huh, thought the ASV would be more powerful here. I figured Ike would sail past 60 here easily, and probably get above 61.

I am itching to see some results!

I think I should be near the top, but who knows. .85 off Mario and currently .08 off Ike (this will probably change by like a whole %, though)

Should put you above me at least since I'm at -0.66 and -0.71 atm. I wonder how much you'll have to be ahead of me to get your 45.98 average above my 46.00.

How many matches have we each predicted?

433 for me (46.001 average)
493 for you (45.976 average)

Err so some quick maths.

46.001 * 493 = 22678.49
45.976 * 493 = 22666.17


So roughly 12 points ish I guess. Well that won't be exact but it should be somewhere in that region.

EDIT: Which means it's a really tough task to catch Creativename and Ngamer's modern average since, lets be honest, our lifetime averages are inflated by not participating in the early contests with tougher penalties/lower averages.

Nah, that's just too powerful of an ASV for that to happen. When I saw the ASV, I knew that Ike wasn't going past 60. Although I am surprised at how Ike is now struggling to go up with the ASV right now, since he was at 59.12% at 4:31 PM and is now only at 59.19% nearly 1 1/2 hours later.

The problem with the updater was that in the last contest, the IP for my server had been banned automatically for accessing the site too much. So I used proxies instead. But I stopped buying those proxies a while back so they didn't work. I disabled the proxies and so it worked again.

Hopefully the server doesn't get banned again.

49.15 and I get 22nd! That's pretty crazy for a first match. Usually scores aren't so good or just all over the place!

Palace of Wisdom debuting in 5th place. This can only be good. We usually have a horrible debut!

Not a bad result.
