game is amazing conceptually, has a great story and aesthetics, just can't play it because the gameplay is really terrible on multiple levels

Black Turtle did a pretty good job.

brawl is another good one, it's amazing that it turned out so badly since you literally have to try to ruin that concept so badly, but sakurai literally tried to make it a bad game and he was quite successful

Superman 64, please. Animated series Superman is arguably the greatest incarnation of the original superhero, and to have a classic Big Blue game on par with his cooler, darker pal Batman, well, I'd pay money to see that.

Lair comes to mind. I was pretty excited about that one when I first heard about it. Ended up buying it at Sears on clearance for $7 and even then it was a waste of money.

gonna say DKCR, not because it's a bad game, but it could have been so, so much better with a few simple fixes. get rid of the waggle controls/at least have an option to just use the button like a normal person, and fix the rolling mechanic to be more in line with the original trilogy. boom, insta best game on wii.

I have a lot of problems with that game's plot I'd like to fix, I'd probably remove the Ridley scene given the chance, but all the monologues and the fact that you accomplish basically nothing in the entire game are my main gripes. Also, Anthony Higgs is a pretty cool guy, I wouldn't change his characterization.

The RPG is upcoming.

Bethesda had a chance at the rights and wanted to do it but ultimately passed.

I still don't see how Brawl betrayed anyone's expectations. Surely no one in their right mind expected a competitive, balanced fighting game? It was always supposed to just be a crazy fun party game with tons of fanservice and nothing more. Melee having competitive merits was totally unintentional on the creators' part.

To me, Brawl was everything I could hope for and I still play it with my friends.

As for my pick in this topic, I'd say... maybe Banjo-Kazooie Nuts&Bolts. It wasn't really a bad game, but to all us Banjo fans who just wanted Banjo-Threeie, it was... not what we wanted.
