And anyone who hands these out on Halloween clearly hates the holiday, and wishes you'd stop knocking on their door.

See, about those strawberry things, they at least qualify as candy. I'm not a fan, but I can see where people would like them. Which is more than I can say for the peanut butter taffy things, which qualify as toxic waste wrapped in orange and black wrappers, and anyone who likes them was born before candy was invented or is mentally ill.

I love those strawberry candies.

I've never seen that peanut butter taffy though, somehow. I'm a big fan of saltwater taffy, but get the feeling I probably wouldn't like that stuff.

Those strawberry candies rule. I used to be ok with the taffy stuff. Didn't hate it but I didn't prefer them. I liked taffy as a kid though.

Tootsie Rolls. They're all right ish I guess but they got ruined by overexposure. After basically every Halloween I got to the point where all I had left was Tootsie Rolls. God dammit enough tootsie rolls :(

OK so there was some disagreement about the Old Lady Strawberries, but here's a terrible Halloween candy that's a surefire agree:



The dreaded SUGAR DADDIES.

If you've never had one, don't be fooled by the picture. This isn't caramel on a stick. This is Krazy Glue with a little sugar in it. These ****ers WILL rip your fillings out if you try to bite them (hell they feel like they might rip your TEETH out), but you HAVE to bite them because if you just try to suck on them you'll be eating them until next Halloween.

That's what makes them so much worse than the black & orange peanut butter taffy. That stuff is gross, but at least it can be eaten very quickly so it doesn't get in your way for too long. Sugar Daddies don't taste much better but they take FOREVER to eat.

Candy corn and Bit-O-Honey are good.

But actually, I can't remember what it was called but I remember sometimes getting this pink bubblegum that was always nearly as hard as a rock when you first started trying to chew it and its bubbles were always weak. It also vaguely had the "bubblegum" flavor for about five seconds before instead taking on the flavor of your saliva.

That's the worst I'm pretty sure.

Read through this topic and I must say I love the fruit candies with the fruit wrappers and gooey filling. Wth, Dauntless Hunter? Strawberry, pineapple, and cherry are particularly amazing.

There was this couple that would always give out hot apple cider and steamed/broiled/grilled hot dogs, I forget how they prepared them, each year. They would suck it up and actually be outside the entire 3-4 hours that trick-or-treating lasted where I live. It was fantastic.

The only drawback was that it was located on the opposite side of my neighborhood so it would take awhile to get there and would have to sacrifice dozens of houses. It was worth it though

I'm just glad you didn't pick one of the candies I bought for trick-or-treaters this year. I've got Tootsie Pops, Smarties, AirHeads, Slo-Pokes and Black Cows. Not mainline treats, for the most part, but good candy that kids'll save till last, grudgingly eat, and then say, "These are actually pretty good."

Hey, everyone likes AirHeads. Smarties are pretty good. Tootsie Pops are alright. Never had the other two.

We don't get many trick-or-treaters, so we tend to have a variety of candies to hand out, and let them choose. We don't have anything mentioned in this topic yet.

Good & Plenty is probably the worst though. That or the really terrible gum they hand out.
