Not sure if real though. its from [email protected] but it was in my spam folder. here is the content of the email.

We’re gearing up for the forthcoming launch of Diablo III and would like to extend you an invitation to

participate in the beta test. If you are interested in participating, you need to have a Battle.net

account, which you can create on our Battle.net website.

We will flag you for access to the Diablo III beta test when we begin admitting press. You do not need to

go through the opt-in process.

I don't know, there is just something fishy about this to me. They're saying I'm invited to a beta test, but they want my Battle.net account and password. I don't want to send my password if its not safe. And don't they usually say something like "We will never ask for your password" anyway? Serious red flags be tripping IMHO

Yes, there is a D3 beta test ongoing.

No, you shouldn't reply to that email because it's an obvious phishing scam. Anything that requires you to communicate a password over a plaintext channel is a scam.

As far as communications of this kind go, an official e-mail would not ask you to provide account information by e-mail. There would be a link in the e-mail taking you to the official site to provide any information they may want.

Even then you have to make sure the link takes you to the real site.

Official communications like a closed beta invite will also (usually) include your username or real name somewhere in the e-mail. They wouldn't contact you about this unless you had a battle.net account already and they knew who you were.

If you ever get a Diablo 3 beta invite you will be able to access it by just logging in to your battle.net account, not by replying to any email.
