Iron Man 2 was alright, but I dunno.

I guess I'd put it above Thor.

Thor was good, but things kind of happened way too fast. That movie would have benefited from another 20-30 minutes. And Hulk was just kind of bleh.

Just watched Captain America, it was better than First Class, I think. Great movie.

Peggy (ew, that name) is incredibly hot, as well.

Googling Peggy's actress (Hayley Atwell) has provided disappointing results. She looks so much better with that 40's hairstyle.

Captain America, to me, suffered from basically being created to serve as an intro to The Avengers. Take away the last part and the movie wouldn't tie together very well at the end. On the other hand, the other movies (well, I haven't seen Thor yet, so I can't talk about that) work as stand-alones.

What? Cap had the least "avengers" tie in crap of any of the movies since Iron Man. That is not my opinion...it is a fact. They both had after credits scenes about the avengers....Iron Man 2, Hulk, and Thor all had multiple scenes IN THE MOVIE solely to tie into the avengers.

Thor and Iron Man are my two favorite Marvel characters and possibly my favorite comic characters in general. I didn't like First Class nearly as much as everyone else seemed to. And Green Lantern was ok but actually better than I expected, which was a little surprising.

Hulk would be just under Cap if we were counting Marvel movies in general. IM2 would be at the bottom. Good, but not as good as the others.

Thor was bad because that romance plot was extremely forced. She fell in love with him because he's a hot guy that throws s*** on the floor but why did he fall in love with her?

But they're all pretty decent movies though. I didn't think that the Hulk film was as bad as everyone else I suppose but I'm kinda biased toward Hulk since he's my favorite superhero.

Thor was poor for several reasons. Way too much time was spent on unimportant mortals, causing little to happen for a good half hour of the movie. Then the villany was poorly done-first the frost giants are the enemies, then the government, then Loki after a nonsensical freak-out on his part sort of tries to take over the antagonist role but just generally does it poorly. Also, I would've appreciated a lot more time being spent on Asgard and whatnot, as a non-reader, I have little understanding of anything that's going on up there.

Don't forget the most awful love story of any superhero movie. I'm not sure how it was in the comics, but come on, I'm supposed to believe Natalie Portman changes her career to find this guy she barely knows that's a pseudo-god from another planet? Their relationship couldn't have gone above wanting to bang each other and Natalie Portman can find another smexy dude.

It's not like they went the realistic route and had no women. Nono, they had exactly one, and she exists purely to be "the girl", "the love interest", "the jealous one", "the one putting way too much trust in cap". Oh hey look, now she's having a conversation about how being a girl makes her an outsider.

And that's not the only issue with the movie. Just...yeah, it suffered from being stale and stereotypical in a few ways like this.

you think it is a negative for a film to have a love interest? and you are faulting captain america for being unrealistic? I mean, nobody was acting like the girl being there made sense, they were treating her like the girl who is being forced into the boys club.

she was there not just to add a love interest, but to draw parallels between how she is marginalized due to being a woman, and how cap was treated before becoming cap. it was one of the themes in the movie about the underdog being able to do great things if you give them the chance. not anything new or profound, but that is what captain america is all about, that real heroes are those with the biggest heart.

I can understand how you might think it was "stale" or stereotypical, but I would suggest that "classic" would be more appropriate. It was not trying to be anything new, it was a modern version of a classic story.
