-Matches will last exactly 24 hours. Votes after that much time has elapsed will not be counted, even if a new topic hasn't gone up yet. -This is a contest to determine which character is the most *powerful*. Vote only for the character you think would win in a fight, not the one who's funnier, cooler, or sexier. If you don't do that I can't count your vote. -BOLD YOUR VOTE. Unbolded votes will NOT be counted. -Rallying is allowed. Alts are not. -Fights will take place in a neutral terrain. This does not necessarily mean a *featureless* terrain: assume that both characters will have a chance to use all of their skills to the fullest here, barring setting-specific abilities and anything that requires the presence of multiple enemies (but see below). -Characters start the fight alone. They don't bring allies with them, like Kerrigan and the Zerg Swarm for instance. Summons are allowed though, provided they're brought once combat has started. -Fighters retain their usual personalities. They won't fight to kill unless that's their MO, and won't spam their best attacks to win unless, again, that's how they act in their original media. -Similarly, fighters are unaware of their opponents capabilities at the start of the fight unless their powers facilitate them information (like knowing all there is to know in the universe - this would include who the opponent is and what he can do, as well as weaknesses) -You don't have to justify your vote, but it helps. If you feel like you can add something to the debate, go right ahead! -Seriously, BOLD THE VOTE. So important it bears repeating. -Bracket Link, for viewing past results and future matches: http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?&tid=408528&tclass=
Past Results: After several blowouts, the Aang vs. Red match lived up to the hype, giving us a thrilling battle in which the Pokémon Trainer's clever tactics and numbers advantage were enough to overcome even the mighty Avatar State. I'm still waiting on those feats for Aang, though...! Votals: 8-15
(3) Negi Springfield
From Mahou Sensei Negima, Negi Springfield is a young but powerful mage. Negi is skilled with wind, light, and lightning magic; he fights with a combination of Chinese martial arts and unincanted spells. He eventually learns delayed spells as a battle tactic and can create a strong magical barrier to protect his frail body. He is a remarkably quick learner and fights with magic through his fists.
Negi can absorb magic into his body, with differing results; absorbing flames ups his strength, while absorbing lightning ups his speed. Negi is also able to use a magic circle to stop and absorb an opponent's power in order to use their own strength against them; this is how he was able to fight Jack Rakan, a very powerful fighter, to a standstill.

From Dragon Ball, Goku is a martial artist with a pure heart. Goku is quick to show mercy and often gives adversaries many chances to redeem themselves, though he can kill if the need arises. As a Saiyan, Goku has always possessed superhuman strength (he is capable of lifting many tons), flight, and reflexes, and is capable of reacting and fighting at superhuman speeds. Goku is not terribly bright outside of combat, but in terms of fighting he is a genius, capable of learning attacks after simply seeing them once.
Goku's signature move is the Kamehameha wave, a massive ki energy blast. He can amplify his power by transforming into a Super Saiyan, estimated to increase his power by 50 times; Super Saiyan 2, which is twice as strong; and Super Saiyan 3, which is four times as strong as the second level (though Goku has yet to master Super Saiyan 3). He can teleport nigh-instantly with Instant Transmission, though he needs to sense life to teleport somewhere.

Gotta bounce, so I can't do arguments now (barely had the time to get the match itself up). I'll put something up later today if there's a need for it. Sorry everyone!

Well magic effects DBZ fighters the same as any mortal... but I doubt he can beat Goku. I'll wait though.
How so. Like you mean "Buu transforms people into candy" magic or getting struck by magic lightning would do just as much damage as it would someone else?
cause Goku gets shot and just gets a bump on the head (and thats kid goku)

even then though didn't Vegito maintain his sense of self when he was a chocolate ball and then proceed to kick the **** out of the strongest form of Buu WHILE as a piece of candy?
I am curious if Goku would be able to do the same (maintain sense of self that is and thus if he was turned into a rock or something he would just be a SUPER ROCK) lol. Then again...it didn't seem to help other members of the Z team (they were transformed and that was it lol)

He has gotten much stronger where at this point he prob beats the yyh cast easy. But that goes a long way to beating dbz. But I have to catch up again and don't know what status magic he uses if any. Didn't before and was more power and tricks based

The King Wang. Listen up Urinal Cake. I already have something that tells me if I'm too drunk when I pee on it: My friends. - Colbert.
I mean Goku would be susceptible to diseases I guess (thinking back to the heart thing unless I am forgetting something that would make it that diseases wouldn't work now)
Plus I don't think negi is known for that anyway just mentioning it.

Negi doesn't have the offensive power to hurt Goku normally. Negi can move at several hundreds times to speed of sound but I think Goku is still faster. Negi doesn't have the defense to stand up against mountain destroying attacks let alone moon or planet busting. I guess Negi might be able to set up a spell to absorb one of Goku's attacks and send it back but he would have problems hitting Goku and Goku would still survive it. I don't think Negi can win.

Yeah, Goku is just stronger. Negi might be able to match him in speed, but eh, not enough.

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -Vaarsuvius, Order of the Stick
Negi's defenses aren't that good; he's better at evading damage through speed and lightning clones. He does tank Fate's Tearing Earth, which was a lava blast. I think that's the most impressive.

11 votes in favor of Goku so far. Four more for a mercy.
