I tried replaying Donkey Kong '94 again recently. I remembered it being pretty good as a kid... but I really didn't have much fun with it at all this time around. Bland gameplay and bad controls are a terrible mix.

Midway through the third or fourth world, I flat-out decided "Okay, this game was better off left in the past," and I never touched it again. I have no idea why so many people think it's one of the best games on the GB - it's the very definition of a "quantity of quality" game.

Anyway, last level of Super Meat Boy. I realize that the game was just a draconian trial-and-error, where you spend most of the game frustrated and trying to memorize the right jumps, and by the end I just had enough.

Biggest offender has to be Gallarians: Ash. Saw it for $20 at a hole in the wall and thought "That was a sweet movie! Can't wait to see how the story continues." I never knew a game can actually make you feel bad before that point in my life. Bored? Sure. Mad? Sure. Outright would take a fist to the face rather then continue playing that game? Come at me bro!

Call of Duty world at war

Playing on veteran working my way through the trenches dodging what seems like infinite grenades I stop around a corner and my squad moved down the wall in front of me. I lob a molotov cocktail over the wall and get killed. Now I wasn't killed by a sniper or chaingun on the other side of the trench. I was killed by an enemy that had run around the corner and passed my squad who never even attempted to shoot him.

That was the final straw in what had already been a very frustrating experience.

the sad thing is that the ending that comes after said fetch quest is really wind wakers sole redeeming trait

L.A. Noire because it was slow and tedious.
Star Ocean 3 because the final boss is imposssible.
Ninja Gaiden because it really isn't that good.
Mega Man X6 because it's really, really bad.

Probably like 30-40% of the games I play. I struggle getting through something unless it really grips me.

I usually play a game for a while, get to a point that gets me pissed (like when I turned off my Majora's Mask game on the final day without saving), and then stop playing for a couple months, only to play it again much later and finish it up.

Kind of a weird one, but Persona 3 Portable. This is weird because I've played through all of P4 and enjoyed it, but I guess it was just too overbearing and I said "f*** doing this again". I go and look up a lot of s*** for these games (like, all the right answers for the text questions and stuff about personas), so that's probably why it gets kind of burdensome to me.

Maybe I'll beat it one day.

The only video game I can think of that isn't just "I'll pick it up again someday" is Pokemon, I've tried multiple times to play a Pokemon game and it just isn't for me, so I will never try again.
