Oh man Skychase Zone feels like such a good break. Very nice.

And Wing Fortress zone! Has a very final feel to it, so i assume we're almost done.

Also Super Sonic is not immune to pits. Given his slippery control I'll have to restrain myself here.

They are meant to be played together.

Also, have fun with the emeralds in that game. Best bonus stages, but most difficult to collect all 14 emeralds.

The basic point is that you have 6 stages in Sonic 3. 2 Acts in each stage.


So in 12 Acts, you have to come up with 7 emeralds.

And then &K happens.

Wow, good job on the last boss, takes some patience. If you're planning on playing Sonic CD, I'd say now is a good time, because it might feel strangely minimal after S3&K, because CD is the shortest of all Sonic games. It came out between 2 and 3 as well, so it's next chronologically too. But if you're excited to play S3&K or don't have CD, that's fine too. S3&K is definitely the climax of the pre-Dreamcast series.

Ugh, I hate 3's special stages even more than 2's. CD's special stages are my favorite, but the original's are amazing too.

Sonic collects emeralds and kicks Eggman's butt. The end.

Seriously though, there was no canon until Sonic 3.

As for how exactly Sonic 3 & Knuckles works:

-You can play as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles

-They each have a slightly different story, but Tails is just a gimped version of Sonic's, so don't bother.

-Tails is no longer useless when you play as Sonic, in fact if you set up a second controller you can use him to carry Sonic around!

-By playing the combined version of the game, the original final boss of Sonic 3 is removed, as is Knuckles' opening cutscene from Sonic & Knuckles if you play as him. Otherwise you get everything from both games plus a little extra.

Finished Angel Island Zone

Things I liked:
Acts flow together better, and so do Zones, i don't feel like I'm just dropped off in a new place each time, I feel like I'm actually making progress and going to places on a bigger map kinda like Half Life but nothing like it

Elemental shields yessss

Tails actually helped out.

I did like Angel Island more than both Green Hill and Emerald Hill

Things I did not like:
Knuckles totally ganked my emeralds I thought we were bros

And Marble Garden was certainly better than that other Marble zone.

Plus this game is giving out lives like candy, I have 14 lives plus 3 continues.

And another thing I like about this game so far is how well the boss fights are compared to the other 2. That fight with Tails was pretty great.

Yeah, you can get rings and extra lives like crazy.

Plus, you can actually save your game so you don't have to start alllllll over if you die!

Oh god you can totally juggle the ending signpost that's pretty awesome.

There are certain spots at the end of the level that have bonus boxes if you land the sign post in the right spot.

Hydrocity is totally the best water level in a platformer ever.

And you probably haven't even seen the best parts, since it's your first time playing! I used to think Act 1 was a bit boring and too much underwater, but there's a path that lets you go above water for almost the entire level while constantly running top speed, and it's awesome.

I'm enjoying Sonic 3 now. I've learned to spindash way more, it's helping a lot. I also found out that each elemental shield has an air attack. It's pretty neat!

Hydrocity best water level this is what I like to hear

Man that snowboarding section at the beginning of Ice Cap was really awesome and I'm disappointed it never happened again.

It happened again. Many times. I think most fans would rather it didn't.

*Looks at snowboarding in Sonic 06 and the Sonic Riders games*

T'was fun the first time they rehashed it though, in Sonic Adventure's Ice Cap. At least it was pretty awesome in 1999.
