I dunno how bullet hells could be particularly "perplexing" it's not like the appeal is complicated. Really hardcore challenge centered around not getting hit with a simple design. It's basically just Contra cranked up to 11 and I don't see anyone confused about Contra.

As someone who has played Bullethell type games, I would agree that it is much easier than you would originally think. The hitbox of your ship is so small that you really just make sure you're always firing and take it slow.

That being said, I still would have a died a good fifteen times on that boss, so the massive skill it takes for some of these players to do what they do is just as obvious as it seems.

I love a good bullet-hell shooter. When you're blowing s*** up, dodging hundreds of bullets, music blasting, score and bonus points flying everywhere...it's just so damn intense and satisfying.

But I don't like all this loli/moe s*** CAVE has been putting into their games to appeal to "certain" audiences. It's even invaded my beloved DoDonPanchi.
