I was thinking of just using the same scoring system as last year, but maybe dropping the defensive players? Unless everyone liked that. So, 12 team league, live draft, and point system like last year. We can work this out however after we have everyone in.

don't count out bad teams, got 8th in my league out of 10 last year in regular season(top 8 make playoffs), then proceeded to get 2nd in playoffs scoring the most points in the first and second rounds(then getting blown out in the finals, but i dont think his team was beatable even with my best lineup >_> )

Not because Chris was bad, but because he never showed up after the first week was him team the unofficial "bye". He had like three players on IR halfway through the season.

I think the only things I would change this year are possibly adding points per reception to make WRs more lucrative, and reducing the Bench from 6 to 4 or 5. Last year we had some people who were able to hold on to players for deprival purposes since the Bench was deep enough.

A second league would be entirely on the second set of people who form it. Don't think we need to involve ourselves in that really. I say we get to 14 and make the cut-off. We got most of the core back (including Walrus, who just posted).

I don't have any strong opinions either way on the first one, but I don't like the second suggestion. With so many teams on bye weeks, and the fact we have both offensive and defensive players, some people would end up having to cut some players just because of the bye week or play short handed. I was considering increasing the bench, but I sort of like it the size it is.

Other opinions? I could add say .5 pts per reception or something like that, and I would decrease the bench size if enough people demanded it.

Part of drafting is also balancing your Bye weeks. Two general schools of thought are to either spread your Byes out so you never have more than 1 or 2 Starters on Bye at any given time, which is the point of your Bench, to relieve those players on those weeks, or to completely stack up on one week and just accept you will probably lose that week, but dominate all others.

Yeah, but the way our league is formatted this is almost impossible. We have 18 starters. There are only six weeks this year that are bye weeks, including four weeks where six teams have byes.

A bench of six is pretty reasonable, I think. No reason to punish people that draft well and have an excess of talent on their team.
