Well I know that some people bought the game over the weekend so I thought maybe now there's enough people playing the game here to warrant a topic to discuss it??
I just made it to Chinatown, the fourth city. Not to go too far into spoilers, but the warrens section was pretty bad. Way too much combat in a maze of sewers. Hopefully the game goes back to its original quality, as I was enjoying a lot until that part.

Yes, a ton of these little flesh monsters with like, fat guys that shoot at you and big spider monsters. It was strange, there were so many of those spider guys and I just ran away from them. Was I supposed to do that, or should I have been strong enough to take them all on?

i remember running out of ammo trying to kill them all on my first playthrough as a toreador who focused on melee weapons for combat
needless to say i died way too many times trying to slice them up since they dealt incredible damage and i barely put any points into the firearms skill so it took a while to take them down that way
but even on my following playthroughs where i focused on ranged combat and had an easier time, i hated going through the warrens
I have an unarmed-focused Toreador, so I didn't stand a chance fighting them. The only reason I beat the first mandatory one is because there's a platform at the top of the room that the monster can't get on so I could just pluck away at it with what guns I had for awhile.

So are there any more areas beyond Chinatown? Someone was talking about Malibu, which sounded like it could be a hub. Anyway, the Fu Syndicate and the Giovanni Mansion areas were really interesting and fun.

Just the first two towns, Chinatown and Hollywood. And the Society of Leopold
Speaking of Chinatown, I've always thought Mr. Ox was supposed to be Leland Gaunt from Needful Things. He runs a knick knack store, goes on about taking people's souls, makes you do fatal pranks for his knick knacks, and you can't kill him, he'll just laugh at you and disappear. It's totally him

Is there any reason to go back to old quest givers, like Jennette and VV? I should I be checkning in on them to see if they have more stuff, or is once their quest line done they're done?

Aecioo posted... Also, if you guys like the story in this, check out the first V:tM game. Really good story, but the gameplay is, well, pretty ancient.
I hated the gameplay of the first so much. It was awkward and clunky.
Stealth in this game is sort of broken. I had this sidequest with a series of stealth missions, and even though I hardly have any points in stealth but I can pretty much walk right behind people without them noticing me.

That werewolf encounter awesome, and kinda tense too. Now it really fells like I've crossed the point of no return into the endgame, I just wish I had gotten a little more warning about it.

I didn't think werewolves were going to be so huge. I thought I fought a werewolf at the end of the serial killer sidequest, but I must have been way off.

I also like how almost all of the major characters have a ghoul, but it's usually not terribly obvious. LaCroix's ghoul is Mercurio. Bertram Tung's ghoul is that annoying guy who bothers you outside the blood bank. Therese/Jeanette's ghoul is Vandal in the blood bank. Issac in Hollywood's ghoul is Romero the zombie hunter

Well vampires transforming into slug monsters is the second-most unbelievable thing in this game, the first being the Warrens being so unbelievably bad.
