it depends on your build
i remember running out of ammo trying to kill them all on my first playthrough as a toreador who focused on melee weapons for combat
needless to say i died way too many times trying to slice them up since they dealt incredible damage and i barely put any points into the firearms skill so it took a while to take them down that way
but even on my following playthroughs where i focused on ranged combat and had an easier time, i hated going through the warrens
fortunately it gets better again after that
