Only one I've ever seen is How To Succeed in Business Without Trying starring Harry Potter.

He really wasn't that great compared to everyone else, basically there to sell tickets, but overall it was very good.

I saw him in mid march. I thought he was pretty good all things considered but it was really great seeing John Larroquette

JCS is probably my favorite show, followed closely by A Chorus Line. Original '69 recording with Ian Gillan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Broadway recording. Can't get any better than the lead singer of Deep Purple as Jesus. =)

We used to see 2-3 shows/year, but we haven't seen one since the baby came along. Think the last thing we saw was "Next To Normal" (which was fabulous).

Absolutely love Broadway here - the majority of what I listen to is Broadway/musical theater soundtracks. I love musical theater. Just almost never bring it up here because I wouldn't think a gaming social board would be really interested in it.

I would like to suggest a hidden gem to everybody in this topic, though: Chess. A couple years back they did a 25th Anniversary concert edition a la Les Miserables, and it was utterly brilliant (okay, maybe Idina Menzel is not the best Florence, as much as I've loved her in other things like Wicked and Rent, but the show on the whole is great and even she has some superb moments). Not a lot of people seem to know about this show, especially in America where it kind of flopped on Broadway due to (what else?) executive meddling. But I would highly, highly, highly recommend anybody interested in musical theater check it out.

And for the record, my favorite show is Les Miserables - as long as you see a good cast/have a good version of the recording. The music is such that you really need a great cast to pull off the show.

At the very least the music itself is always guaranteed to be good, even if the singers aren't (DEAR GOD WHY DID THEY CAST NICK JONAS)

Maybe if I can find cheap cheap seats will i go.

Currently I am on the search for el cheapo Book of Mormon tickets. I was trying really hard to get tickets prior to it practically sweeping the Tony Awards. Now its near impossible.

Jmast, my all time favorite and I have no idea why really but it is, is Evita. And its being revived for an opening Spring 2012. Ricky Martin is Che. Personally I'd rather have Mandy Patinkin reprise his role.

Oh yes! The Broadway Evita cast was sooooooooooo good with Mandy and Patti LuPone. That's probably my mom's favorite and one of her favorite albums. =)

Incidentally we're having some friends from Chicago visit us in November with their teen kids. They got us tickets to "Book of Mormon" and their kids are going to babysit for us while the four adults head into the city for drinks, dinner and a show. I can't tell you how excited I am for that evening. =)

I was just telling the wife this evening that seeing Broadway shows is just as expensive of a hobby as playing Golf.

There are a couple Chess songs I love, Pity the Child, I Know Him So Well and Anthem is one of my favourite songs ever, but as a musical it never really did all that much for me.

Ghost the Musical was ****ing amazing, and I would love to see The Book Of Mormon sometime.

I kinda miss Shea, just in that it felt nostalgic while Citi hasn't reached that level for me yet.

But I love Citi for the amenities, even if they're ridiculously overpriced. Last month we went with my brother-in-law and his wife and we were all standing around a table in the center field pavilion each of us with a very tasty microbrew in hand on a wonderfully sunny day, and I couldn't help but think how neat it was that we were able to to this at a Mets game. But yeah, the days of $5 seats and beer are long gone.

Haven't seen Spamalot, one of the ones I've missed. I think my dad has seen it twice too and loved it both times.

This morning on the radio I heard a track from "Sunday in the park with George". I had no idea it was from the 80's. It was unmistakably Mandy Patinkin singing. It was a nice treat.

as for Citi Field, I like it a lot more than New Yankee Stadium but its just so expensive to go and drink and enjoy.

How did I miss this topic for so long?!

I'm really interested in Broadway and musical theaters in general, but alas, I live so far from any country that has enough cultural sense to let them grow.

What I'd love to see are Wicked, Avenue Q, West Side Story, Les Miserables, and maybe The Lion King.
