Finally played some Outland. Started about two hours ago and didn't stop until just now. Got almost to the end, or what I assume is the end, of Underworld. Very cool game, though it was more fun because my friend and I were dying in ridiculous ways.

of bastion, From Dust, and ITSP, they've never even mentioned ITSP going to PC, so I dunno if that'll be any time soon.

Also, ITSP is pretty fun so far. The gameplay is solid, first boss fight was decent. Just exploring this beautiful world is great. I have to agree with most people that the exploration elements are lacking. It isn't so much that I even like exploring tons, but it's annoying that there are generally several different ways to go, but rarely is it even possible to go down more than 1. So, despite branching paths, only 1 way to go, kind of lame.

I still like the game, but unlike Bastion, not so sure early on if this will be one of my top games of the year.

they are selling the bastion soundtrack. $15 for the CD, $10 for the digital version.

I'm actually half tempted to pick this up, the soundtrack was one of the best of the year so far.

really getting into ITSP, really enjoying it more and more, I like the puzzles, combat is good, though honestly it can be a bit of a pain. I feel the same way about metroid games, thats one reason I like the Castlevania series more, RPG ELEMENTS, makes combat more fun.

bosses are pretty fun too, this ice one has been destroying me though.

weakest element is probably the exploration.

From Dust has been doing well on the top downloaded stuff, so Im assuming it is selling well so far.

ITSP is pretty short, I've probably logged like 4 hours, including backtracking, and Im at 77%

Just beat the huge spider that gives you bullet hell on Outland. Loving it.

Played about an hour and a half of ITSP, love it as well, combat feels forced though.

Played about an hour of Bastion, got like three cores, love it the most.

Shuggy beated.

Starting half minute hero tonight.

yeah, ITSP has the metroid problem, combat that is more of a pain than fun. despite the mechanics being pretty decent too

Perhaps it was unfair to call Fruit Ninja Kinect dumb. Its premise is as barbaric and unsophisticated as premises come, and yet its so chock-full of clever ideas and satisfyingly tight controls that it very nearly circles back around to pure genius. It doesn't just set a high bar for the flock of touch-based apps which will almost certainly follow in its footsteps to the Kinect platform -- it sets a pretty intimidating precedent for the platform altogether.- joystiq

wow. I actually expected it to be fun, but I wondered if they would be able to make it worth $10/long lasting. fruit ninja is fun for a little bit on the phone but thats about it. Thats pretty cool.

If I had a kinect I'd still probably be waiting for the Gunstringer to get this though

the first one I wasn't a big fan of the demo, I felt it was pretty easy to get distracted if you started shooting, but I like some of the stuff I've seen. I'd say 50-50 chance I get it

a couple of hours into Bastion, it's OK. a bit dull and some of the general gameplay concepts are shortsighted. fun enough to play. probably overpriced.

I'm getting a 360 next month(waiting for the GoW3 bundle), what are some good arcade games I should get? so far I'm aware of

bastion
braid
insanely twisted shadow planet
shadow complex
ikaruga(never got this on GC)

others?

Outland is excellent, and my favorite downloadable game ever (it has a lot of shadow complex/metroid/castlevania elements)

there are a few castlevania games as well to get

Splosion Man/Ms. Splosion Man/Super Meat Boy are probably some of the best platformers on the system

There's only one Castlevania game to get I think, Castlevania HD and while I love that game (my #1 XBLA game by a wide margin) it's complicated to recommend now.

I checked and SotN is also on arcade, I'll have to get that because I never finished it on playstation

outland looks excellent, love metroidvania type games and the visual style is great, one of the first things I'll have to get

I don't think it's anything really like D2, not enough that I'm comparing the two!

The areas so far are very small, you can't aim the bow until you start pulling back (it makes the powershot timing more of it's own annoying mini-game instead a fun weapon mechanic), and you replace your weapon with one you pick up.
