Things that are mistakes and/or unnecessary: *The Office was not very good this year and has no business being nominated for Best Comedy, but got one because Carell is leaving. *Family Guy went from a Best Comedy nod to not even being nominated for Best Animated. Now, I don't particularly think this is a bad thing, since FG is very hit or miss, but The Cleveland Show was nominated for Best Animated. *Mireille Enos nominated for The Killing. Anyone who watched this knows this is undue praise. *Kathy Bates for a completely average show that no one seems to have cared about except the handful who got her the nomination *Galecki and Parsons both getting Lead Actor - Comedy. I'm fine with one, two is unnecessary. Carell is in this category too, which again, is only because he's leaving. *I'm pretty sure Melissa McCarthy only got a nod for Mike & Molly because of her stellar work in Bridesmaids. I know that sounds crazy, but think about it for a minute. *The Good Wife is a fine show, but how many acting nomination spots does it need to take up? Two in each supporting category for a total of four is two too many, especially with the wide range of snubs in the supporting categories. *I love love love Modern Family, and I'm exceptionally happy that Ed O'Neill got recognized this year, but does every adult on the show need to be nominated? Especially given the snubs in the comedy field? Oof. *Kristen Wiig. Still not funny. *Betty White is a comedy legend, but does anyone actually think Hot In Cleveland is... anything? I watched it twice and it could not have been less engaging. *Try telling me Jon Cryer was nominated on merit and not as a bit of a f*** you to Sheen.
Snubs: *Community. *The entire cast of Community *The entire writing staff of Community. *The entire crew of Community. The show didn't even get so much as a technical nomination. *NICK OFFERMAN *John Noble for playing several different Walter Bishops on Fringe.
Things They Got Right: *Parks and Rec! *Conan! *Futurama! *Timothy Olyphant *Louis CK / Louie *Kelly MacDonald *The previously mentioned Ed O'Neill *Guest Appearance nominations for Joan Cusack in Shameless and Randee Heller (IDA BLANEKNSHIP) in Mad Men, and for Nathan Lane for Modern Family *The writing nominees. Except for The Office.

Jon Cryer usually gets nominated, and won once (probably taking out NPH's last shot to get one in the process).
As for the Office, I found it substantially less funny than I usually do. The Emmy voters always get the biggest boners for shows that are ending or about to undergo a huge change.
Oh I don't disagree with you that the Emmys usually get sentimental, but I really do think this last season of The Office was remarkably better than any season since 3.
Just my opinion.

community should have picked up the writing nom that episodes did. I'm fine with snubs in other areas, but the lack of a writing nomination for a show routinely given the best comedic scripts is appalling.

Lose Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jon Cryer; replace with (Donald Glover/Danny Pudi) and Nick Offerman
Again, I don't watch many shows, but I do wish that Emmy Rossum had gotten a nomination for her work on Shameless.
Not sure if she counts as Lead or Supporting (She's the lead female on the show to be sure but it really is an ensemble cast), but whichever she counts as she was great.

-Parks and Rec getting an Outstanding Comedy nomination. -Louis CK getting several nominations. -CLORIS FRICKIN' LEACHMAN -Conan getting plenty of love. -Nathan Lane being nominated for his work on Modern Family. -The Cleveland Show getting the nod over Family Guy. Cleveland is unbelievably good in comparison to FG.
THE BAD:
-Johnny Galecki's nomination. Say what you will about The Big Bang Theory, but people actually like Sheldon, and not even the fans of the show give a **** about Leonard. I have absolutely no clue how he got nominated. -The Office getting a comedy nom over Louie/Archer/Outsourced/Raising Hope/etc. -Tina Fey being nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy. I can't believe she gets nominated every year - Liz Lemon is a legitimately awful character. -Community getting no love whatsoever. I'm not even a fan of the show, and I still think that's ****ed up. -Pawn Stars getting snubbed from the "Outstanding Reality Program" category. Chumlee > all! -Modern Family overkill. I love the cast, but they shouldn't be monopolizing the "Outstanding Supporting Cast" categories like this; we could do without Jesse Ferguson or (especially) Julie Bowen. -No RON SWANSON. (Or Donna Meagle, for that matter!)
THE WTF?:
-Matt LeBlanc getting a nomination for Episodes. I have no problem with the show, and I think the guy's funny... but man, that nomination came out of nowhere, didn't it? >_> I've barely heard anyone talk about the show.

Glee is still in the running for Best Comedy and you guys are complaining about The Office?
It may have been fine last year but this season was just terrible. I usually don't like thinking when I'm watching tv shows so a lot of things people blast as being 'terrible' or jumping the shark will usually get a pass from me since I'm already too invested and whatnot but Glee was so terrible that even I noticed and had to drop it.
And I guess you just can't do anything about the massive hard on the Academy has for Modern Family but I do agree that every adult cast member is overkill. Burrell and Stonestreet are really the only ones that come to mind for me as belonging in that category.
NPH getting snubbed is terrible too. I can forgive the show not being up for Best Comedy and even with the raging Modern Family hard on, he deserves it over Colfer and Cryer.
Galecki getting a nom is weird as ****. I'm fine with Parsons though.
And already mentioned by everyone in the thread but Community getting snubbed is atrocious. For the record, I think Danny Pudi is the best actor in the show.
NPH will get his last good shot next year I suspect, if the finale of HIMYM was any indication (assuming that scene of him is where the story is going, he will be a very large focal point over several episodes).
