Like it takes 5 minutes to ride between towns so naturally I'm going as fast as I can on my horse and then I start to get attacked for some reason. So I escape those guys and when I come to another group of guards I literally just trot by them but still my thing goes to full red and I have to fight them. Is there something I'm missing or does this game just suck?

That happened to me a lot when I was first getting into the series. Now I actually haven't played the original, but I assume there is a notoriety metre like in 2 and Brotherhood. Maybe you're notoriety metre is filled up or partially filled?

You might be at a point in the game where all the guards hate you... or maybe they get mad at you unless you are walking the horse (regular moving is bad maybe?)

Who knows, just finish that game quickly so you can get to AC2

you're an assassin with your assassin balls in the air riding around past people you are sworn to kill. seems a bit silly how it's handled in AC1 but not a big deal MAN UP and kill some christians

Yeah I've played through the first hour or so of that game, wondered the same thing. Apparently if you go over the donkey speed limit the penalty is death.

It's hard to pick up on this if you don't pay a lot of attention, but the entire game takes place after Labor Day. You're wearing white.

The Templars were the original fashion police. And they took it pretty damned seriously.

Oddly enough, I just finished playing Assassin's Creed for two hours.

And now I don't feel like I want to play it again. I'll get over it when I make two hours of progress in two months. Before I feel pained by it again.

yeah, every stealth-ish game seems to have a moment like that... when you realize you don't actually have to be stealthy, and you can charge confidently everywhere

well, i'm mostly just thinking of the metal gear solid series here

I keep accomplishing as many of the goals and such in the towns to give me buffs to... I think mostly health. It's just so repetitive and boring. And it all just takes so long too.

I'm at the part where I have the choice to kill either one of the rulers in both of the towns. And the game basically gave me no real direction. They just opened up everything for me and that's about it. I got too frustrated with all of the archers trying to get me in the red awareness when I was trying to do the one interrogation where you need to be up high.

Blech. It gets annoying. That's all there is to it. The game gets annoyingly repetitive and everyone has told me to just start the second one, but I feel like I really need to finish the first one.
