Both Galaxies need to be in. I always figured Bayonetta was a shoe-in, but they're reaching the upper echelon now so maybe not.

I don't mind the list so far, there are some games I'd place differenlt but I see where they are coming from. These are the only real issues:

too high:
45 - Super Paper Mario
69 - Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

too low:
93 - Angry Birds
100 - Demon's Souls

I liked SPM and VP is fine enough but too high for either. Meanwhile Angry Birds is a great phone game and a phenomenon and Demon's Souls has had enough impact to get into the top 50-75. If we switch things up a bit...

45 - Demon's Souls
69 - Angry Birds
93 - Super Paper Mario
100 - Viva Pinata

I have a harder time imagining Brawl being snubbed entirely than I do imagining it being in the top 20.

Well, IGN regards Final Fantasy XIII to be the most disappointing game of 2010, so there you go for IGN's opinions there.

"One game per series" is way too limiting, though. Variety is indeed good, but it doesn't mean that some of the most important games of the decade - Portal, Super Mario Galaxy, MGS4, etc. - should be left off the list.

And for what it's worth, I think Portal is a fair amount better than Portal 2. But I'm also one of those people who thinks that Pikmin > Pikmin 2, so...

This is the right opinion.

Batman is very good, but like others have said, I think it gets overrated. The "explore more as you grow" formula is done better in Metroid, and the game's combat is pretty boring. I think it gets the lion's share of its love because it's a superhero game (starring arguably the greatest one of all) that's actually authentic and good. That, and being stealthy was awesome.

Bayonetta snub is a total joke.

Galaxy and NSMB can be considered different subseries, at the very least.

There are quite a few Mario games on there though, but they all fall into different subseries.
