You're pretty much done with the CMCs - they'll appear a couple more times, but not to the degree of Show Stoppers. They're good representations of kids but I find them pretty annoying regardless, I find them okay in small doses in supporting roles (especially Apple Bloom, she's all right) but they can't carry an episode by themselves. Show Stoppers is one of the worst episodes.
Stare Master had some good gags. "Hammer", "We were building a table?", the gospel lullaby, it was just overall weaker than other episodes. Show Stoppers was the only one so far I actually skipped parts of. (the ending song).
How many more "team" episodes are there? I enjoy the specific character based episodes, but the episodes with a good balance of characters (Bridle Gossip, Dragonshy) tend to be better than the others.
"Over a Barrel" isn't focused on any one character, though it actually isn't focused on anyone - the cast takes a backseat to the setting. Though Pinkie steals the spotlight in the best possible way.
Despite the word choice of the "leap of faith", the idea that you should believe what you observe for yourself even when it goes against your preconceptions and defies what you hold as "common sense" is actually the foundation of the scientific method. The message there is not anti-intellectual at all; Twilight's refusal to acknowledge what she observes and throw out the results of her trials represents a poor scientist who allows bias to get in her way and throws out results.

The last seven episodes feature my favorite episode, two awesome episodes, two episodes that are a total mixed bag, and my two least favorite episodes. Have fun!
Interesting Rarity/Fluttershy dynamics, I don't think we've seen them interact much before.
Twilight again not understanding anything social. Just telling Rarity and Fluttershy each other's secrets wouldn't hardly have torn the friendship apart! Though I suppose Pinkie didn't help.
Odd that some fsns of the biggest fashion model in Equestria don't recognize Rarity, especially after a big name like Hoity Toity noticed her stuff
Photo Finish is the best antagonist? Side character? of the series so far

Agreed, it's like my 5th or 6th favorite episode but it rarely comes up when people talk about their favorite episodes. There's a ton of stuff to enjoy about that episode.
As someone who saw a meteor shower a couple years ago in NH, they are indeed pretty rad.
It's a sort of Parent/Child dynamic with Twilight and Spike, especially with the whole "I'm not mad, I'm dissappointed" line being used a few times. I guess Twilight DID hatch him, so
Overall, it was a pretty average episode. I have been waiting for a Spike episode forever now and it's a shame that it turned out kinda meh. Spike still delivering The Snark like a pro though.
Odd that a dragon in a far off mountain can cause all sorts of trouble but this one living in a cave within jogging distance of town is no problem.
That one was easily my least favorite episode of the season. Lack of funny throughout, and they went overboard with reminding everyone that SPIKE IS TWILIGHT'S BEST FRIEND LET'S REPEAT THAT OVER AND OVER. I thought it was a sign that the show was losing its charm.
Thankfully the next episode convinced me otherwise...

A Bird in the Hoof and Owl's Well That Ends Well were the two episodes I was referring to as my least favorites. ABitH starts out good with the party and then spends the rest of the episode doing boring jokes with Philamena and then caps it off with the return of the painfully unfunny Benny Hill chase scene. OWtEW just friggin' bores me to death, almost nothing Spike does is either logical or funny, and they start the episode playing up Owlowiscious as some kind of sneaky, treacherous character which goes absolutely nowhere. Would've been a much funnier episode if it turned out all along that Owlowiscious actually was trying to replace Spike.
At this point I was worried FiM was starting to suck a little and the end of the season wouldn't be very good. Then they followed up my least favorite episode of the season (OWtEW) with my favorite episode of the season by far and all was right with the world.
Yeah that's the one thing I liked about A Bird in the Hoof, it established Trollestia, which is an interpretation of her character I find a lot more amusing than just boring ol' deity Celestia. I also liked Twilight freaking out over it because Twilight freaking out over Celestia is always really funny. Thaaaaat's about it though.
I'm actually going to New Hampshire for the week tomorrow, so I'm watching one episode tonight and leaving the finale for "whenever i have free time in New Hampshire" to keep my suspense up
Thing is, waiting also raises my expectations, so it better be good!
Now I'm going to say this now, I know just from .gif exposure and general chat that Pinkie has a breakdown in the next one and Fluttershy has one in the finale.
But I don't know why or how so I'm still interested. A pinkie breakdown actually sounds pretty ****ing hilarious and is just what she needs imo. Plus I liked Fluttershy doing *-The Stare-* and I want to see how this translates into a full on spazzout
Fantastic ep, especially for followibg up Owls Well That Ends Well.
Pinkie being completely off her rocker and genuinely pissed off was glorious to watch
The Spike interrogation is a highlight of the series up to this point
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy trying to sync up their excuses was great
Pinkie's entire fake party, complete with her decidedly not-poofy hair was awesome, especially her eye movements and twitches throught the entire thing.
