I think the saddest part about this topic is that in the course of 48 hours I am now in a state where I am sort of excited for "the best episode"

Starting Ep 13 now, probably going to be the last one tonight.

So an hour later I actually watch it.

Rainbow Dash is such a jerk. It's great.

It turned out to be a pretty weak episode. Not just because it didn't really convince me to change Pinkie's place at the bottom, but the entire thing was just kinda boring.

I like everyone, but Pinkie is pretty hit or miss. Admittedly more hit than miss, but still moreso than the others.

Haha, I love it when people get to Suited for Success (the art of the dress episode) and enjoy it. I mean, it's one thing to be watching a show about cartoon ponies, but to be watching the episode where the most girly cartoon pony sings a song about making dresses and then they have a fashion show, and then it's one of the best episodes.

What has this show done to us?

Feeling Pinkie Keen was like the first episode of the show that I watched that I really liked and I kinda don't get why everyone else seems to hate it so much. I think it's great.

15 is Feeling Pinkie Keen, that's the one with the moving company. I don't remember if Derpy shows up in 14 (Suited for Success). Yes I do know the episode numbers off the top of my head.

People take a lot of issue with the whole "just have faith" moral of the episode, as if it's insulting to their personal beliefs. Frankly, I love that episode. It has derpy, Twilight hooking Pinkie up to a machine, the one hydra head that's a little slower than the others, and a brief appearance by Trollestia. Love it.

Suited for Success is the first episode to make me question watching this show any further.

Through satanic pact or voodoo ritual, I watched it anyway and had this really stupid smile on my face like some sort of brainwashed victim.

I think they sort of f***ed up the moral of FPK but I don't really care. That episode was never about morals to me, it's just goofy Twilight/Pinkie interactions with a lot of surprisingly effective physical comedy. They shoehorned a moral in at the end because that's what they do and even they admitted that it didn't really make any sense, but that has never been more than a minor issue to me.

I like the part of Sonic Rainboom where there's like four Derpies on screen at once.

For me, Pinkie's at the top.

That being said, "Feeling Pinkie Keen" is actually one of my least favorite episodes in the series, and I'm a man of faith (so you'd think I'd dig the theme.)

It wasn't the moral of FPK I really gave a s*** about. Who cares. I disliked it because it was just pretty much the same joke over and over. I did like the slow Hydra head and Twilight's freakout though.

The next logical step is an existentialism episode.

I was going to write a fake Dear Princess Celestia letter about ponies and whether or not this is a universe fit to exist in but I stopped myself a sentence in because for some reason I still have dignity

I spend far too much time wandering if they live on a planet or just some plane of existence out in space, thanks to the whole "Celestia raises the sun" thing. If they do live on a plane, then several other issues arise, like the whole astrology and stars thing. It would help explain the Ursa Major living nearby, though.

On the other hand, I can totally see Celestia just trolling everybody and it's all made up.

The best part is in Suited for Success when Twilight mentions Orion's belt, which simultaneously brings up two difficult questions: why they have the constellation Orion unless they actually are living on earth, and why they interpret the constellation Orion as a human.

I heard about that, and apparently the night sky is so vast, that even millions of light years away, the same constellations would be visible. And a human could just be one of their own "mythical creatures."

Plus Spike mentioned a Fumanchu beard and that raises more questions than constellations.

The CMC are seriously good representations of just kids though. They're not trying to hurt anyone, just trying to have fun, and not overstep their boundaries. They feel like actual characters than just a tool used in telling a moral or joke. I think this is why Pinkie Pie seems so weak to me. She needs to be fleshed out really soon because she feels out of place being this one character that seems to be just a medium through which jokes are made in the middle of all this well written hoo hah

Tbh though "the quiet game" part was hilarious because I sure as hell know that my older sister tried that all the goddamn time on me when I was a bratty kid.

It worked as well as it did in the show

Pinkie gets some major development in "Party of One" which also happens to be one of the best episodes (up there with Sonic Rainboom and Art of the Dress)

Watched Show Stoppers

Not sure what I feel about 2 CMC episodes in a row, but I don't think it's good. Scootaloo's scooter scene was pretty kickin rad, but I can't really think of anything else to say.

The song at the end was so intentionally horrible it wrapped from funny to pitiful to annoying. The kids are too GOOD at representing annoying kids. I can't complain because they're written that way!

Show Stoppers is pretty universally considered the worst episode of season 1, I think. I know it's my least favorite.

Yeah I think I'm all CMC'd out. I don't think I 'd mind them individually, because I liked Apple Bloom in Bridle Gossip. But when they're together they act as one entity and eh.

I do like them as characters, and as I've said before, they are well written, but I'm just sorta fully saturated on bratty kid antics. I hope they don't appear for a while

Odd that Sapphire Shores was never mentioned again other than to give an objective for the episode.

I'm just relieved we got a really enjoyable episode after the last two kinda fell flat, especially because it tried to follow up motherf***ing Sonic Rainboom. It's a nice return to form.

Rarity just keeps getting better btw
