Double Down Pool: 60 Inigo Montoya (The Princess Bride) 57 The Janitor (Scrubs) 57 Butters Stotch (South Park) 56 Deadpool (Marvel Comics) 52 Barret Wallace (Final Fantasy VII) 48 Amaterasu (Okami) 46 Dracula (Dracula) 43 Voldemort (Harry Potter) 38 Link (Zelda) 38 Tarzan (Tarzan)
Triple Double Stuff Pool: 78 Bowser (Super Mario Bros.) 76 Dr. Emmet Brown (Back to the Future) 72 Sonic (Sonic The Hedgehog) 66 Phoenix Wright (Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney) 60 Donatello (TMNT) 54 Kain Highwind (Final Fantasy IV) 52 Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island) 50 Huckleberry Finn (Tom Sawyer & Huck Finn) 50 Professor Layton (Professor Layton and the Curious Village) 47 Scooby Doo (Scooby Doo, Where Are You?)
Biggest Surprises: I cant see one surprise other than Barret Wallace making it. I personally thought the Triple double stuff pool was stacked, but the results were expected imo.
Biggest Letdowns: There are some letdowns though. Ammy going so soon sucks. Voldemort gets knocked out leaving Hermione, Snape, and Albus as the final wizards. Link got little to no support.
Biggest Surprises: Aang bounces back from a subpar first round. Stone Cold manages a tiebreak. The Doctor moves on by one.
Biggest Letdowns: Archie misses the cut by one. Maleficient fall by not much more than that, the same goes for Spike. We lose another turtle and Morpheus.
WTF @ Zoidberg getting cut. I thought this board was Futurama central!
Mostly good results here, though. We lost the best character of the day (Gloria), but Darkwing Duck won his pool, Beowulf almost won his, and Ted advanced. Nicely done, B8!

And finally, here are your top 170 characters Board 8! All are in order based on how they did in the second round:
134 Merlin (Mythology) 134 Magneto (Marvel Comics) 132 Luigi (Super Mario Bros.) 127 Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes) 126 Spiderman (Marvel Comics) 124 Yoda (Star Wars) 121 Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean) 121 The Brain (Pinky and the Brain) 121 Scar (Lion King) 120 Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird) 120 Phillip J. Kirk (Star Trek) 83 Dexter Morgan (Dexter) 85 Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story) 83 Inspector Gadget (Inspector Gadget) 83 Winnie the Pooh (Winnie the Pooh) 82 Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland) 81 Yoshi (Mario) 81 David Xanatos (Gargoyles) 81 Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z) 81 Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender) 81 Ness (Mother Series) 81 Zack Fair (Final Fantasy VII) 84 Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong) 84 Auron (Final Fantasy X) 84 The Terminator (The Terminator) 84 Donald Duck (Disney) 80 Elmer Fudd (Looney Tunes) 80 Beowulf (Mythology)
So ends Round 2! Now there are only 170 fictional characters left!
First we will honor the highest scores not to make it to the next round. Maybe in a different pool these characters might have done a lot better:
98 Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street) 94 Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid) 94 Fred Flintstone (The Flinstones) 91 Popeye (Thimble Theatre) 91 Big Boss (Metal Gear) 91 Launchpad McQuack (Ducktales) 89 The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant) 87 Green Lantern (DC Comics) 87 The Grinch (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) 86 Pumba (The Lion King) 86 Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) 85 McLovin' (Superbad)
So what's the next format going to be? Pool's too big to be a round robin, you said you were going to do unique methods so a traditional bracket is out, and the Top 100 Pokemon thing is using Swiss, so that's not really fresh right now.

Ok. The good news is the third round will start tom afternoon!
Bad news, although I have all other subsequent rounds planned out as far as structure, I'm still honestly trying to decide how to operate the third round. It's still a lot of characters. Too many for a swiss style. Too many for a lot of styles (unless an unconstrained large amount of time is used).
Any suggestions for how to do the third round would be appreciated.
In the end, barring a better suggestion, there might be one more round of pools with a different twist to the rules that will eliminate half the contestants to reach a number of 85, where the tournament will blossom out from its pools system into other tourney styles.
Cherry Bomb Pool 65 Merlin (Mythology) 53 Ness (Mother Series) 38 Vash the Stampede (Trigun)
30 Cosmo Kramer (Seinfeld) 30 Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters)
5 The Rock (Pro Wrestling) 4 Forrest Gump (Forrest Gump) -5 Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Roman Candle Pool 77 Magneto (Marvel Comics) 52 Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z) 51 The Doctor (Doctor Who) 46 Farfetch'd (Pokemon) 7 Jack Torrence (The Shining) 7 Zack Fair (Final Fantasy VII) 6 Neo (Matrix) -16 Garfield (Garfield and Friends)
Biggest Surprises: Peter Venkman was one of the last characters I entered into this competition and honestly did not expect much out of him. Whoa was I wrong. Magneto and Merlin win another pool. Farfetchd and Ness continue their unprecedented marches. Vash secures a position late. Vegeta does his part. The good Doctor made a late run. The second pool overall was clear cut as to who the majority wanted to move on.
Biggest Letdowns: Forrest Gump is running on empty. The Peoples Champ finally loses, leaving pro wrestling with nothing left. Neo is gone, leaving Agent Smith alone. Jack and Zack cant cut it.
Also I'm with Pokewars, this is a great format. I get to just ignore the characters I don't really care about and if there are only a couple of people you like you can really support them.

Cumulus Pool 79 Luigi (Super Mario Bros.) 36 Dr. Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog) 33 James Bond (James Bond) 29 David Xanatos (Gargoyles) 26 Zaphod Beeblebrox (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) 16 Mufasa (Lion King) 12 Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong) -41 Aang (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Stratus Pool 75 Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes) 66 Yoshi (Mario) 39 The Dread Pirate Roberts Wesley (The Princess Bride)
19 Hubert J. Farnsworth (Futurama) 19 Black Mage (8-bit Theatre)
-3 Auron (Final Fantasy X) -5 Iron Man (Marvel Comics) -20 Scott Pilgrim (Scott Pilgrim vs the World)
Biggest Surprises: Luigi and Sherlock win more pools. David Xanatos edges out Zaphod. Dr. Robotnik is stronger than first thought. Another tie!
Biggest Letdowns: Iron Man flops big time. Scott Pilgrim and Aang prove their no match this late in the game. Donkey Kong cant cut it. Mufasa slipped off the mountain.
I had no idea Gargoyles has such a following. I actually did like the show as a kid, but I always thought it was one of the more obscure Disney cartoons (like Bonkers or something).

7Deuce86 posted... Not sure how you can make it to round 3 only to get negative voted to -41.
Lack of fodder/fellow antivoting targets.
Speaking of antivotes, I am very surprised by what's going down in the Kentaurus and Barnard's Pools. Well, maybe the Barnard's Pool results aren't that surprising because live-action stuff has been s*** in this contest, but seriously, the Kentaurus Pool looks so messed up.
Actually, seeing how s***ty live-action stuff has been doing and then seeing Hannibal Lecter and Perry Cox comfortably leading their pools is pretty surprising as well. Lecter, at least, is in the usual position, where anything can change rapidly on the whim of a few votes, but Cox has such a dominating lead that it would take four votes to kick him out of the round (with at least 46 of the 80 positive points going to the current 2-5 if you wanted to avoid tiebreakers, and that's only with all 40 negatives going to Cox), and at least two votes just to eject him from first place!

Biggest Surprises: Piccolo winning a pool. Aerith is a surprise in her own rights to get this far when so many Final Fantasy characters have been getting the axe. The Spirit Detective moving on is the biggest surprise. I thought for sure Zapp, Willy, or Zero would beat him out.
Biggest Letdowns: Fry gets got. There will officially be no South Park character advancing past the third round in this competition. Nor will there be a Toy Story character.

Star Wars is getting crushed lately. Obi made it through though.
