I think they originally had live action "dwarves" that were normal size people. People were mad that they didn't give jobs to actual little people actors. Now this.

IIRC, Peter said casting little people actors as dwarves in Snow White is typecasting. So Disney made the change in order to avoid any potential controversy.

He has since regretted his statement after little people actors complained they are already having enough of a tough time getting acting jobs and Peter effectively denied 7 (or more) from a lucrative job.

But the damage has been done, Disney isn't going to change their stance at this point.

Would be funny if all of the voice actors turned out to be people with dwarfism. They did cast one for Grumpy but the others still haven't been revealed.

I think dwarf actors like Dinklage were justified in their outrage because it's one of the few roles that already naturally existed for them. Making them normal size was not only stupid, I think it takes away from the fact that their size helped Snow White feel less threatened. A woman living in a strange house with 7 full-sized men just doesn't have the same vibe.

This is even worse though, if they were just gonna make them dwarves again...hit up those actors ffs.
